Alena showed the ball then used a step-through to convert another shot inside and drilled corner 3s. She knocked down a mid-range jumper off the bounce and looked impressive at the tournament.

Blumberg is a long guard who can post up against smaller guards and has good footwork around the rim. She is a strong rebounder from her guard position and made multiple 3-pointers. She performed exceptionally well during the third day of the Select Super Showcase, and I’m eager to watch her play in her final AAU games this upcoming weekend.

Blumberg most recently starred at the LBI summer league. She was able to attack the defense by putting the ball on the floor with both hands. Blumberg was crafty with her finishes and was able to make plays off both 1 and 2 feet. She was and still is very dangerous working the baseline.

led the way offensively for Mystics 2025-S40 at the MBA Mother’s Day Classic. She put her foot down to burst by defenders and score an impressive fake pass left-handed layup. Alena drove by her defender, came to a jump stop in the paint, and created space with pivots to score with her left. One of her best plays happened on another determined drive through the lane when Alena scored over a post at the rim through a foul.

Blumberg has been nothing short of fabulous this season. If she told me that she deserved to be even higher on the list, I wouldn’t tell her that she’s wrong. She’s a versatile guard that can be equally effective playing both on and off the ball. You want evidence that Blumberg is a rising star? She showed great awareness to anticipate and steal passes in help defense and won rebounding battles on both ends. Alena blocked shots and hit clutch free throws in key situations. Blumberg was terrific in Dexter’s win against Saginaw Heritage. She shot the ball very well, hitting a few triples in the game and shooting from everywhere at a high percentage. Blumberg rebounded incredibly well, tracking the ball off the rim from the perimeter. She got the job done on the defensive end showing good vision and quick hands.
