Maya Auger Maya Auger 5'8" | CG North Country Union | 2024 State New E , 5’8 G – North Country Class of 2024
Auger drilled all kinds of holes in the Rice defense. With five threes, almost all of them off the bounce, Maya showed once again her shooting prowess. Maya was incredibly efficient, putting in 17 points off of maybe eight shots over just about 20 minutes. In addition to all the scoring, Auger moved the ball well on offense and found the roller once or twice out of ball screens for easy twos. Maya’s defense was solid, with active hands on closeouts. She collected a couple boards as well and pushed the tempo when it was there. Overall, Auger is proving to be an offensive dynamo that defenses have yet to figure out.
Cora Nadeau Cora Nadeau 5'9" | SG North Country | 2023 State New E , 5’11 G/W – North Country High School Class of 2023
Nadeau had her fingerprints all over this one. Her defense was locked in, sticking to opponents and pressuring them with active hands, good footwork, and sound positioning. Cora collected three blocks as well, all well-timed and calculated. Moreover, she reeled in six boards due to her intuitive pursuit of the rock as it came off the iron. Nadeau had it clicking on offense too, showing off her three-level scoring. Cora dropped multiple threes, some off the catch and some off the bounce. She also displayed her mid-range game with pull-ups and a nice baseline fade. Nadeau is looking polished as ever.
Sabine Brueck Sabine Brueck 5'8" | CG North Country Union | 2025 State New E , 5’8 G – North Country High School Class of 2025
Once again, Sabine demonstrated just how effective she is on both ends of the floor. Brueck collected a couple blocks, around four steals, and caused numerous other faulty possessions with her pressure defense, length, and impressive agility. Furthermore, she turned much of that defense into offense, finishing a number of nice layups in transition and setting others up for easy twos as well. Brueck got into the three-point party as well, dropping in two or three herself. Brueck continues to show her two-way ability with hard work and efficient shooting.
Kelli Cieplicki, 5’9 G – Rice Memorial High School Class of 2024
In a game where Rice at large had difficulty finding much rhythm, Cieplicki ended up carrying the load offensively. Kelli dropped in a couple threes, one off of a nice pull back crossover, creating space and rising into her jumper with good balance and elevation. She also showed off some post work, making a nice shoulder fake and turning over the right shoulder for a nice lefty finish. In addition, Kelli collected a few rebounds and played her typical measured yet hard-nosed defense. A tough two-way player in her own right, Kelli showed good leadership and grit.
Elyse Macdonough, 5’8 G – Rice Memorial High School Class of 2024
When the ball isn’t dropping on the offensive end, all good players turn it up defensively. Naturally, Elyse did so. MacDonough played tough on the defensive end, taking away opponent’s air space with active hands and hustle, quite simply. In addition, Elyse communicated well, as I could hear her consistently encouraging teammates to lock in on the defensive end and keep working regardless of the point differential. Of course, Elyse also dropped in a couple threes and found her way into the paint for a bucket or two as well as some kick outs to shooters. MacDonough and company weathered NC’s first half onslaught and played them near even the second half.
Rosa Kori Rosa Kori 5'10" | PF Rice Memorial | 2026 State New E , 5’9 W – Rice Memorial High School Class of 2026
It seems that Kori is cementing her role as an important inside out player for Rice. Rosa worked the boards as much as anybody for her squad, grabbing 5+ boards overall. She had a couple on the offensive glass too, garnering second chance opportunities where she went up strong in the paint and drew fouls. Kori’s defense was solid, taking on numerous difficult assignments throughout the game. Offensively, Rosa showed nice perimeter instincts and attacked the rim as well. Overall, a good early season showing from the youngster.
