In this article I highlight what I see as the best skill for each player along with some of their recent stats. In my next article I will be focusing on some of the best juniors and seniors with the same type of format.

Although maybe not as talented as some of the best players from bigger schools her recent performances are worth noting. She scored 45 points in a 61-60 loss to Rainier. She has also had games of 37, 24, and 19. She has averaged 24 through six games. You might think with those scoring totals she is getting a lot of points from threes. That’s not the case, she has only made seven in six games. She does her damage in the mid-range game. She is great at the stop-and-pop from fifteen feet. She can get down the floor in a hurry and she will pull up quickly for the mid-range jumper. She made some tough shots. She has turned the pull-up into her best weapon. She has good speed with the ball and gets a lot of layups coming off of steals, which she gets lots of. Almost six a game, along with nearly seven rebounds. She has stepped up her scoring in a big way for a Raymond team that lost a lot of talent from last year’s team. Best skill – Pull-up jumper.

Yet another freshman in a loaded class in the state of Washington. She had 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 steals in a loss to Meadowdale and 21 twice to start the season. She’s got the size and length at 5’10 for a point guard. She handles the ball with fluidity, changing direction extremely well. She uses that change of pace and direction to get to her spots. She can pull up and hit jumpers or find teammates. Her head is always up and she understands spacing and gets it to the right spots. She shoots the three without a lot of effort and I see that part of her game developing into a great shooter with a lot of range. The thing that stands out to me is the changing from right to left or vice versa with the ball to be effective as a playmaking scorer. She looks like a natural and makes passes that are on target with one hand or two. Lots of upside with her size at the point guard position. Best skill – change of pace and direction with either hand.
The combo of Blachly and 2025 Ava Marr continue to impress as backcourt mates for Archbishop Murphy. They had 21 and 22 points vs Mountlake Terrace, and 22 and 16 vs Meadowdale. Blachly also had 25 vs Edmonds Woodway. She is one of the best shooters I have seen this season. She doesn’t waste any time getting into her shot with a quick release and rarely misses by much. She can handle the ball and is strong with the ball, which is underrated. It helps in every aspect of the game that involves the ball. She is always ready for the catch and shoot, and has great range. She can score in bunches and isn’t afraid of the moment. She plays with confidence and shoots with confidence. Best skill – knock down shooter

The freshman had 18 points vs Meadowdale and 13 against Mount Si. She did a little bit of everything well. She can shoot it and make threes. She can play the point, or on the wing and guard bigger players. She took the ball to the basket and scored. She got steals and she is a decent athlete. I only watched one game but her skill set is right up there with some of the best freshmen in the state. Best skill – versatility – shooter
I have written about her a few times. I will keep this one short and to the point. I think she is the best player in the state. Best skill – Can’t pick just one – She has no weaknesses.
