is one of the most well recognized players out of Washington, representing Union High School. Brooklynn was cooking today and scored 24 points, earning herself MVP of the game.
Brooklynn plays with a lot of swagger, confidence and leadership. She was leading the pack on the court, calling out plays, dishing behind the back passes to her teammates and knocking down some big shots.
It was in the second half, that Brooklynn really took charge and heated up. Her strong drives to the basket and her spin moves with creative flair, make for a fun performance to witness. Brooklynn is committed to the University of Oregon next year and she will make a tremendous impact for the Ducks.

One of the best scorers and long range shooters this state has ever seen and I say that with confidence. She handles the ball smoothly, keeping it on a string and rarely turning the ball over. She has amazing court vision and delivers accurate passes to her teammates who leak in transition. She is the all time leading scorer for 4A WA state history with 2,952 after averaging 32 a game this season. She has a very bright future and will be teaming up with former WA state standout Katie Fisco in Oregon.

At 29.5 points per game, Haywood currently leads the state in scoring, and the tape supports it. Union’s offense consistently flows through her, and she’s shown the ability to score at all three levels regardless of coverage. Whether it’s creating off the bounce, finishing through contact, or knocking down perimeter shots, her production reflects both volume and versatility. As league play has progressed, she’s continued to deliver despite drawing the full attention of opposing game plans.

Brooklyn Haywood is no stranger to the court and has had an extremely exciting offseason journey. Recently signing with the Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team, Brooklyn is a walking highlight reel.
Any time she sets foot on the court, she’s all business and brings her A game. I’ve been able to witness her quite a few times now during the offseason, and I think many would agree it’s so fun to witness such talent grace the floor in basketball.
She’s got the “IT” factor, and she’s got next! I think it’s fair to say her hard work and dedication have paved the way to many successes along her journey. This past weekend, Brooklyn was deep in her bag of tricks. From no-look passes to knockdown threes and rebounds that lead to put-back shots, she was exciting to watch. She carried her club team, NW Reign, to victory and continued to prove why she’s truly sensational.

Here is one that many, many people have been waiting to see. Brooklynn is an elite player, being ranked nationally in her class. She could have chosen anyone in the entire country but narrowed her last 3 choices to Baylor, Utah, or Oregon. She is one of the best pure shooters I’ve seen come out of the state of WA and has the potential to be a WNBA player one day. Her range extends 5-6 feet behind the three point line and can knock shots down from that range when contested. She handles it well too, breaking down defenders smoothly and being able to finish in a variety of ways in the paint. She’ll be headed to the University of Oregon to continue her basketball career.

Brooklyn Haywood is excited to watch. She possesses natural ability as a PG coming down the floor and it’s notable. She is someone that can be your pass first PG while creating for others of the dribble or she can become a score-first type, where she is always looking to create buckets for herself more than anything else. She competes with a great change of pace and that helps her keep her defenders guessing. Defensively, Haywood doesn’t take plays off. She is willing to leave it all on the floor and that’s been the case this entire weekend too. All in all, Haywood is an impressive prospect from out West and her team is going to have a chance to bring home a EYBL 17U Natty before tomorrow comes to a close if they play their cards right.

Brooklynn is one of the best shooters I have seen at the high school level. She can let it fly from well beyond the 3 point line, being able to hit from NBA range with no problem. Her game is smooth and savvy on the court, being able to handle the bal smoothly and pick apart offenses with ease. She excels in the transition game too, being able to make decisions on the fly and get buckets for her or her teammates. She is a high level Division 1 recruit as she heads into her senior year.
