Throughout the course of the season I will have a Game of the Week. This will feature an intriguing match-up that I will have to get out and see. It could be 2 rival teams or there could be some individual players I would like to see go head-to-head.

The first game of the week featured Ozark vs Morrilton. Both teams featured a player that would be moving on after the season to play at the collegiate level. [player_tooltip player_id='304737' first='Cheyanne' last='Kemp'], one of the state's top combo guards out of Morrilton, has signed to play for division 1 program Weber State. [player_tooltip player_id='306109' first='Briley' last='Burns'], a 5'11 forward out of Ozarks, has signed to play for NAIA program John Brown University. But it was [player_tooltip player_id='870515' first='Johnna' last='Brockman'], the 6'0 post player for Morrilton who stole the show. Johnna finished with 15 points, but scored 10 of those in the 4th quarter after Ozarks made a run in the third quarter to get back in the game. Keep reading for each players evaluations.

Johnna might have started slow on the offensive end, but she finished strong. She poured in 10 points in the final quarter to lead her team to a victory over a pesky Ozark team. Johnna also defended the paint well on this night. She blocked shots and limited her opponent to one shot by rebounding the ball well. When she didn't secure the defensive rebound she ran the floor well and did an excellent job of posting up in the lane and calling for the ball. This gave her the opportunity to score quickly or draw the foul.

Cheyanne came out on fire. She hit her first shot from the field, which was a catch and shoot three, and then continued to put pressure on the defense with her aggressive attacking of the paint. When she got her opponent in a one-on-one situation she showed her ability to change direction and speed to get in the lane for the short jumper. Cheyanne also made plays in transition. As good as she is in the half-court, Cheyanne really excels in the open floor. Her speed and ball handling makes her difficult to defend as she can finish through contact, make the pull-up jumper, or find the open teammate.

Briley is a very skilled post/forward. She's comfortable and effective whether she is posting up on the low block or playing out on the perimeter. When posting up on the block she has the strength to play through contact and the touch to finish the play. She can make the mid-range jumper of the catch and shoot or the dribble and she can extend her range out to the three point line. Briley showed she could also grab the defensive rebound and push the ball in transition and help in the backcourt against a trapping defense.
