Here is your defense She had.17 points 7 assists in a 71-45 win over Timberline last night and lots of steals. She is a talented offensive player but she is a game-changer on defense. She is exceptionally quick and a ball hawk. She rarely gets beat laterally with her sideline-to-sideline defensive pressure and is constantly following the ball. She waits for the opportunity to take it. She doesn’t give an inch of space or take plays off. She had a couple of tough assignments with Soraya Olgadez (North Thurston) and Shayla Cordis (Timberline) in the last two games. I watched the North Thurston game and she made buckets tough to come by. When she’s not busy taking the ball away from opposing guards, she is running the show as the point guard. She handles the ball well and sets up the offense She has become a valuable scorer this season after the loss of four starters from last year’s team. She is best at getting past the defense and hitting the mid-range jumpers when she isn’t taking her steals end to end for layups. She is the most impressive defensive player I have watched this season. She is averaging over 13 points and 6 steals a game.
She went over the 1,000-point mark in her high school career in a win over Prosser. She also had 17 rebounds to go along with her 13 points to help keep Wapato unbeaten at 7-0. She is a player to watch in class 1A. She has great length and athleticism on the wing. She shoots it well and has some deep range. Her athleticism and jumping ability slow up with her ability to rebound and score inside. She can put it on the floor and get to the basket and is a good ball handler. She is well-rounded and talented. Wapato is a team that has some talented players led by Bass and freshman point guard Deets Parish-Nagle.

She dropped 34 points with 10 threes vs Monroe earlier this season. She has a nice compact shot with a quick release. She is also a steady point guard who does a great job of taking care of the ball. Last year’s Snohomish team was loaded with talent and a state tournament team. They may have lost some of that talent but she has picked up her scoring, hitting multiple threes in every game this season, including 6 vs Shorewood and 4 vs Arlington. Meanwhile, 5’10 freshman Sienna Capelli has been a rebounding machine, grabbing 23 in that same game vs Monroe.

Had 30 points in a win over Mark Morris. She was effective in the paint and didn’t miss many shots. She uses the glass as her friend and she doesn’t waste much time getting into her shots. She got the ball in a good position to score, using some simple pick-and-roll action on the wing or establishing a position on the block. She was also effective on the defensive end, with multiple blocked or changed shots. She even made a three from the wing in the second half. WF West appears to be a team on the rise in the 2A rankings with size and some guards who can shoot it.
