Hallee Feaker Hallee Feaker 5'9" | PG South Hamilton | 2023 State IA
The South Hamilton guard scored 24 points in a dominant Hawk victory. The senior has had an outstanding start to her year, leading her team in points and rebounds. Feaker has led her Hawks team to an early 6-0 record and an early season ranking of No. 6 in 2A. There is plenty of time for things to change in 2A, but South Hamilton couldn’t have started any better.
Aubrey Hoeft
In a loss to Saint Ansgar, Hoeft finished with an 18-point ten-rebound double-double. Although the Panthers fell, Hoeft did a lot to keep them in it through the game. Winning the rebounding battle will lead the Panthers to wins this season, even if it didn’t last night. Hoeft also got to the free-throw line 12 times in the game and made seven of those attempts.
Olivia Ollendick
The Crestwood senior led her team with 19 points and four assists in the Cadets’ win over South Winneshiek. The senior also tallied three steals in the victory. Ollendick seems to have a knack for finding the ball on both ends of the floor this season. Ollendick and co. have begun the season undefeated and are currently the No. 11 team in 3A.
Katie Costello
The Waterloo Christian junior dominated last night and led her team in scoring and rebounding with a 29-point and 12-rebound double-double. Costello has been excellent to start the season, averaging 20 points and ten rebounds, along with three steals per contest. The wing has helped her team to a few wins early on in the season, and last night was a statement performance for her, and I’m curious if the Regents can build on some early success in 1A.
Alli Clark
Regina Catholic junior Alli Clark had a solid night against Mid-Prairie. She scored 23, grabbing five boards and dishing out three assists. Clark has shot the ball well early this season with splits of 50/32/75, and her shooting will stand the test of the season. Even though she isn’t leading the Regals in scoring, Clark may be the most crucial player Regina Catholic has.
