Skyler Murty of GMG averaged a team leading 9.3 PPG and 6.5 RPG on the Varsity floor as a Sophomore last Winter. Murty, the 5'7 PF, isn't the tallest for the Forward position but she is tall enough and skilled enough to give her matchups a tough time on both sides of the floor. She took over 225 shots in 23 games on the offensive end last season and only 4 of those were from deep. She mainly stuck in the middle and caused havoc in between the blocks. She posted high Rebounding numbers on the season as a whole, as well as showing up in the Steals, Blocks, and Assist categories at times. Opponents are going to come into contests this Winter against GMG and they are going to know that Murty is the one who makes all the magic happen. She is going to have a target on her back for the next two years but that's not a bad thing. That means you are doing your thing and playing well - which is all you can ask for.

We are looking for a BIG Winter ahead for Taylor Rypkema of Central Lyon. Last season she was her team's leading scorer as they went 19-5. She averaged a good amount of points throughout the season as you would imagine but the notable part is that she did it with a high level of efficiency. She shot over 50% from the field and that speaks to what she is going to be able to bring to the floor this season for her Junior year. If she can build off of what she has set in place in the past - she is going to have a Winter to remember and her team is going to win a lot of games. Central Lyon is a program that understands how to dominate down-low. They run great Post action because they have had so many of them in their system in the past so I expect the exact same thing to play out with Rypkema. She will finish out her high school career strong and with a bang. From there, the possibilities at the next level could be ample. We will just have to wait and see.

The Albia Lady Dees finished up the 2025-2026 High School season with an overall record of 11-10 while going 10-4 in the South Central Conference. Their prospect that led them in multiple ways was Aliyah Hood. Hood competes as a PG/CG. She is the type that can play the 1, 2, or 3 for her current team. She can thrive as the starting PG and hit her teammates for open assists, she can score at all offensive levels you can name, and she can move off the ball to kill her opponents with her cutting action inside the lane. We are going to a see a steady dose of Hood over the next eight months. She will be right back in the driver seat and that is going to have her putting up some wild stat lines before you know it. That type of stat lines that will stand out within her conference.

A player out of the 2029 Class to know is Jacy Haan. If you don't know, Haan is one of the tallest players out of the 2029 Class coming in between 6'0-6'1 and she competes at the PF position. As a Freshman she showed up in multiple contests, scoring and rebounding at a steady rate in the lane. She also demonstrated that she wasn't afraid to let it go from distance off of the catch in pick-and-roll action. She is always willing to just shoot it off the catch if she is given too much space by the defense. Haan is young and she is promising on the hardwood. She stood out as someone to notice last Winter and I expect her to build on that this Winter. The way she can eat up space in such a short amount of time is impressive but now it's all about what she can do with it to use it to her advantage.

Judy Bokhary emerged as one of the top prospects on the DSM Roosevelt roster last season. She was one of the only starters who was not a Senior and she made the most of her opportunities. So much so that we expect her to lead this group this Winter at Will. We are talking about a 5'10 CG, that can MOVE. She gets down the floor in a hurry and she is a mismatch nightmare to most that try to step in her way. This is one of those players that if she runs her own run, she should have several options to compete at the next level at the end of her high school career. She possesses the intangibles that all coaches love to see with her size and athleticism. If you think about that and how far her game has progressed the last few years - you see where things might be going down the line. She could have some big possibilities in her future if she stays dedicated.
