We talk so much about the highly-rated prospects in the state for each recruiting class that often times, there are diamonds in the rough sitting toward the bottom of lists that deserve attention and are waiting for their breakout moment. Let's take a look at a number of those players in this article, focusing on undervalued 2025 forwards in New Jersey.

Marisa Amitie' - PF, Wall

A great base and a strong presence, Amitie' had a good start to her high school career, showcasing her defensive prowess with some offensive skills added in. She's a great shot-blocker and commands the post well. We're curious to see how offense will be integrated into her game come this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='525560' first='Ella' last='Damratoski'] - C, Bernards

Soccer goalies usually translate well into great forwards for basketball, already being tall and mobile around net. The same is true for Damratoski, who's defense speaks for itself early on. Her height is perfect down low and that wingspan can get to passes or shots in a heartbeat. Really excited to see what she can do in Year 2.

[player_tooltip player_id='414302' first='Mekyla' last='Durham'] - SF, Ewing

Ewing has such a stacked roster that Durham can get caught in the crossfire, but she showcased an ability to make shots inside the lane with efficiency and consistency as a freshman. That defense is daunting for opponents and she'll continue to get better with more playing time and more confidence year-by-year.

[player_tooltip player_id='414291' first='Amaya' last='Harris'] - 5-10 PF, Monmouth

Harris entered high school standing tall at 5-10 and still has room to grow. She's definitely matured well into her current frame and as as a result, showcased some promise on both sides of the ball as a freshman. While nothing flashy yet, she's a downhill player in the lane and plays physical, yet fearless.

[player_tooltip player_id='333337' first='Grace' last='Love'] - 5-10 SF, Manasquan

Part of the NJ Rise AAU program, Love put in some work during the summer, controlling the ball better, getting more open looks and not being afraid to throw her weight around when defenders are up on top of her. Her court awareness is improving as well has her agility and mobility in general.

[player_tooltip player_id='333358' first='Katie' last='Renaud'] - 5-8 SF, Ranney

Renaud didn't get much playing time last season, but when she did, she shined on the court and made an instant impact. She's versatile, able to switch between the frontcourt and backcourt, but it's her defense which stands out most. What we're looking to see from her, something that will come with more playing time, is consistency on both sides of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='414239' first='Lilly' last='Riggi'] - PF, Trinity Hall

Riggi has fantastic court awareness for a post player and reads plays well, able to step up to make a play, deflect a pass or create a turnover. She's active on the defensive side of the ball, something that has come to be expected for post players, but just being able to fill the lane and make your presence felt is massively important.

[player_tooltip player_id='414433' first='Paige' last='Sonzogni'] - 5-10 SF, St. Mary

We had to move Sonzogni into our rankings because stats only tell so much of the story. She's a well-rounded forward who can shoot, draw contact, get tough shots in the lane, rebound, block shots, cause turnovers, anything that's needed on a basketball court. While not quite at double-double levels yet, she's showcasing herself to be a complete talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='414344' first='Delenie' last='Streeter'] - C, Rahway

Streeter played in just 13 games last season, but what an impact she's already had with Rahway, recording a block or more in her final eight-straight games, as well as two double-doubles and two more near double-doubles. She's an unstoppable force down low and looking at those last seven games, averaging 10.7 rebounds a game in that time, boy is she primed for a breakout sophomore year.

[player_tooltip player_id='414237' first='Mackenzie' last='Teevan'] - 6-4 PF, Holmdel

You're going to be hard-pressed to find a more intriguing 6-4 prospect anywhere because not only does Teevan have the size to impress, but she's got the skillset of a guard in a power forward's frame. From down low to beyond the arc, she's hitting shots everywhere with ease and that height only helps when creating space and making plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='525315' first='Camille' last='Whiting'] - PF, Hackensack

Whiting showcased some great defensive skills as a freshman with Hackensack and showed just what she can do on the glass. Her offensive numbers were pretty much evenly split between made field goals and made free throws, meaning she can not only make the tough shot, but draw contact to get to the foul line. That's smart basketball.
