The game turned out to be a pretty good one and I was surprised at some of the talent in the game and that led to me watching a finding some girls that need to be added to the rankings for sure. Hope you guys enjoy the evaluations, some of these girls are pretty good and now I return to watch them Saturday play another team at home. Here we go.
Corona HS Game Performers:
Loss to Don Lugo with a score of 62-52
#32 – Jessica Hernandez – 18pts
#23 – China Irechukwu – 16pts
#5 – Natalie Hernandez – 8pts
2023, 5’9, CG, Jessica Hernandez – primary scorer for her team, she showed us a nice stroke from the outside and a nice handle on the court. She had a nice pull-up jumper, but needs to work on layups to the rim using the backboard. She ended the game with 18 points, all of the points were from the jumper, she could score when she squared to the basket, but also showed us a little jump hook shot that was very consistent. Could catch and drive to the rim for short floater, loved her tenacity on the floor.
2024, 5’11, PF, China Irechuckwu – big body forward that can rebound the ball and then push the break for her team, she has great size and is a beast on those boards. She was the enforver, she made full court transition layups of the defensive rebound, pushed the break herself and finished with style. Could also catch and swing thru and beat her defender to the rim for easy layups as well, she was a beast in our eyes, a little more development and she will be a player at the next level.
2023, 5’6, SG, Kassandra Villa – another big body forward that is a good rebounder and can get the ball of the rebound to the guard to push the break. Solid guard for her team, knocked down some shots off the dribble pull up, made a three from the corner and made good plays on defense for her team.
2025, 5’10, PG, Natalie Hernandez – long guard that plays the front of the 3-2 zone and does a great job at it, forcing the ball to one side and then can push the break and get it to her scorers on the floor. She also showed us she could stop and pop the three pointer in transition off the break, she knocked down two of them in the game to help her team get back on track, love her size and the way she ball handles.
