Thursday saw quite a number of holiday tournaments in New Jersey, meaning tons of great performances to talk about. Here's a number of great ones we saw during the Holmdel Invitational on Wednesday.

[player_tooltip player_id='406951' first='Rachel' last='Castela'] - Mount St. Mary (2024)

Another day, another standout game from the junior out of Mount St. Mary. Castela posted a double-double in a big win for MSM over East Brunswick, with 18 points and 12 rebounds. She sunk four three-pointers in the win and had a season-high five blocks, just great numbers overall from her.

[player_tooltip player_id='482242' first='Phoebe' last='Costalos'] - Mount St. Mary (2023)

Costalos has gotten off to a hot start this season and put together a solid performance for MSM against East Brunswick on Wednesday. One of the better shooters for the Mount Lions, she knocked down two three-pointers en route to a 10-point game, hauling in six rebounds as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='859850' first='Caitlin' last='Gay'] - East Brunswick (2024)

Gay and the Bears might have come up short on Wednesday, but she did a great job in the lane for East Brunswick and was successful at the free throw line, going 6-of-9 to finish with eight points in the loss. She's nearly surpassed her production totals from last season in half the time and should continue to be a bigger impact player for the Bears.

[player_tooltip player_id='858655' first='Julianna' last='Kowaleski'] - Colts Neck (2024)

Having already set a career-high this season with 21 points in Colts Neck's season opener, Kowaleski scored 12 points for the Cougars in a 50-33 win over Middletown North on Wednesday, knocking down 3 three-pointers in the process. She's already hit 13 this season and has more points through her first five games of this year compared to her entire point total over 16 games last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='488729' first='Savannah' last='Butz'] - Colts Neck (2024)

You really can't ask for more from the junior as she was a menace in the lane and made Middletown North pay the price in fouls and free throw shooting, going 12-of-14 from the line with a season-high 21 points for the Cougars. This was Butz's best game of the season and she will only get better as the season progresses.

Aimee Tanglao - Middletown North (2023)

Tanglao has stepped up and answered the bell for Middletown North this season and despite the 50-33 loss against Colts Neck, she scored in double-figures for the second time this season, a team-high 11 points and six rebounds, going 5-for-8 from the foul line.

[player_tooltip player_id='488999' first='Meher' last='Vig'] - South Brunswick (2024)

Vig has built off a successful sophomore year with an even better junior year so far, scoring a team-high 17 points for South Brunswick in a 60-38 win over Roselle Catholic. She's averaging 12 points a game through the first seven games of the season for the Vikings.

[player_tooltip player_id='414408' first='Alexis' last='Lease-Springer'] - South Brunswick (2025)

Lease-Springer, coming off an inspiring 22-point performance in a close 68-67 loss against Ranney, ran the gauntlet again on Wednesday, scoring 16 points for the Vikings against Roselle Catholic. It's her fourth 15+ point game of the season as she's averaging 13.3 PPG for South Brunswick so far.

[player_tooltip player_id='559075' first='Zahniya' last='Castillo'] - Roselle Catholic (2026)

While sophomore standout [player_tooltip player_id='414347' first='Jasmin' last='McKay'] led Roselle Catholic with 19 points on Wednesday, the freshman Castillo impressed us most, scoring eight points and hauling in 10 rebounds for the Lions. It was her second game this season finishing in double-figures in rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='333355' first='Haley' last='Poser'] - Ranney (2025)

Poser ran the floor and then some for Ranney on Wednesday, scoring a game-high 21 points and knocking down four three-pointers for the Panthers in a 50-46 win over Holmdel. It's her third game with multiple made three-pointers this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='358976' first='Sarah' last='Hughes'] - Ranney (2023)

Hughes was a big piece in the lane for the Panthers on Wednesday, scoring 13 points and recording five assists, but going 5-of-6 from the foul line in a game where made foul shots could have turned the final score on its head. Really impressive performance from the sophomore guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='414237' first='Mackenzie' last='Teevan'] - Holmdel (2025)

Teevan is a really impressive watch for Holmdel and the 6-3 forward made her presence felt in the lane once again on Wednesday, hauling in 13 rebounds for the Hornets, just missing out on her third double-double of the year. She's got three games with 10+ rebounds so far for Holmdel.

[player_tooltip player_id='406936' first='Allison' last='Cannon'] - Holmdel (2024)

Cannon has been impressively consistent this season for Holmdel, scoring in double figures for the fifth time in six games this season for Holmdel. She finished with 13 points for the Hornets in a losing effort, but so far this year, the junior guard is averaging 12.7 PPG.
