With a field sporting some talented teams and players, this is one of the top girls tournaments during the holiday season in Southern California. I was able to stop by on Monday, Dec. 26 for the first day of the tournament, and here’s a look at some additional standouts that I saw.
1.

– Hamilton 2025
Curl stood out as a solid wing scorer. She’s comfortable handling the ball in the halfcourt and was trusted to be the team’s primary ball-handler for stretches of the game. Although she is more of a two-guard, she sees the court well and moves the ball. A good midrange shooter and can spot up from three. Uses hesitation moves and utilizes pass fakes on drives. She pushes the pace in transition. Defensively, she’s solid on ball and uses quick hands to poke the ball free.
2. Karma Paez – Granada Hills Charter 2024
Paez is a bigger wing that can handle the ball. She uses her handles to get into the lane and she’s able to finish well at the basket at times. She’s a shooter too; she can shoot from three off the catch in the halfcourt or stop on the break as the trailer and shoot transition threes. She can come off screens and shoot if the defense drop as well. Defensively, she has active hands and closes out well on shooters. Makes a lot of hustle plays.
3. Delaney White – Oak Park 2026
As a freshman, White is a solid point guard prospect. She’s strong, she can absorb contact on her drives to the basket and she was able to get to the free-throw line consistently. She has a solid slashing game in the halfcourt and she attacks the basket on the fast break. She consistently was able to find the seams in the defense and make the right plays. Good ball-handler who dribbles under control. She did a good job finding open teammates around the basket.
4. Zoee Mitchell – Heritage Christian 2026
Mitchell is still raw, but has clear potential as a mobile big. She stood out for her rebounding, boxing out and crashing the offensive glass and she did pretty well cleaning up missed shots. She could stand to go up a little stronger, but the rebounding instincts are there. She can pass back out if the shot isn’t there, but sometimes she’s got to be aggressive and go up strong in the paint. When she did look to score, she had a nice touch around the basket.
