Continue ReadingTuesday, we released the Winter rankings update for the Class of 2024. There were more than 25 new additions, plus a few players who raised their “stock”, so to speak, so subsequently there was some movement throughout the list. I wanted to take this time to circle back and address all of the ranked prospects, position by position. Below is a look at 36 power forward prospects who make up 18.0% of the rankings this time around, with analysis on a handful to “keep an eye on” detailed at the bottom.

KEEP AN EYE ON:
Kaitlyn took advantage of roster turnover this year and has given the Lady Panthers good minutes as a starter. She is strong, athletic, and plays with an outstanding motor. She continues to develop her offensive skillset and is starting to consistently stretch her range from the mid-post to near the 3-point line. She has a nose for the ball, pursues rebounds, and she finishes through contact around the basket. Defensively, she can take on most wings and forwards, and she’ll even defend some of their opponents’ better guards. Her versatility makes her a unique prospect.
Abbie has stepped up for the Lady Panthers this year, putting them on pace to have their most wins in a couple of seasons. She is an athletically strong, bouncy, athletic, and very active forward. She can post smaller defenders on the block, finishing over or around them with her athleticism. She also has nice touch in the mid-post and short corners, plus she can attack the basket from 15-feet and finish through contact. She has a nose for the ball, rebounds outside of her area, and she can defend multiple types of forwards, wings, and even some bigger guards at times.
Highlights
Tia has always flashed big-time potential, and it seems like she’s starting to put it all together this season. She is extremely long, wiry-strong, and has nice height considering how fluid, athletic, and bouncy she is. She is still working on building her skillset, but she can put it on the floor a couple of dribbles and get somewhere productively. She also has some touch in the mid-post. Her strength is still her activity defensively, her ability to come from the opposite side of the lane and still protect the rim, plus her knack for coming up with rebounds outside of her area.
