Unranked players looking to make an impact in the next update and ranked players looking to move up both showed why they shouldn’t be overlooked. Here is who impressed us to close out 2022.
Erin had a great showing in the All About the Girls Showcase. She was able to hit shots and get to the line for the Reds. Having a talented group of teammates that she can play off of is a luxury that many players don’t have but Erin makes the best of her opportunities making herself and others look good.
Emrie Aarons
Emrie Aarons
Emrie has been excelling with Wise and in fall leagues since her freshman year. She has next level talent and needs to get her experience with and against next level talent. She is super quick and can put points on the board rapidly, she is an under the radar talent that coaches will miss out on if they aren’t careful.
Makiya Ward
Makiya Ward
Makayla has immense talent but it can get lost as she tries to carry her team. She will undoubtedly face double and triple teams as she did against Wise and with no viable outlet she will be forced into 25 footers and transition buckets off of steals. Fortunately she is talented enough to make her own plays but it will surely wear on her. She will need to make her spring and summer count until help arrives.
Kennedy Wyatt
Kennedy Wyatt
As a freshman Kennedy showed that she has something that could be special. She is super aggressive and is good at attacking the rim in traffic. Her shot has the proper foundation in place and as she continues to improve she can be amongst the the upper level of the 2026 class. She did enough in the 4A/3A Challenge to give her a second look before the next rankings update.
Haley Longfellow
Haley Longfellow
Haley’s first half output was enough to lead the Patriots in scoring as she hit all 7 of her points in the half against Atholton. She showed that she can knock down the three and get to the basket. However, her effort on the defensive end was what impressed the most.
Samora Mims
Samora Mims
Samora plays with interior skill and great effort. At 5’10” she may be considered a little undersized but her hustle adds about four inches to her game. She is relentless on the boards and a really good finisher. She logged a game high 14 points in the win over Northern.
