Faith Walder Faith Walder 5'5" | PG West De Pere | 2025 State WI
There isn’t a guard in the state more comfortable going to their off-hand than Faith Walder Faith Walder 5'5" | PG West De Pere | 2025 State WI . The West De Pere guard can finish at the rim with her left hand as she is with her right. If she’s not ambidextrous, she’s as close to being it as you possibly can. With her ability to use both hands, she’s not easy to pressure with the ball because she can turn and use her other hand and make it look easy as she scampers around full-court presses. She makes things look easy.
Natalie Meaux Natalie Meaux 5'5" | PG Franklin | 2024 State WI
One thing that shows when kids play the game. It’s fear or lack thereof. Meaux isn’t afraid of anything or anyone, and she loves to play in the big games. Whenever I see Meaux play, I look at a kid who wants to succeed at all costs and isn’t afraid to sacrifice to get that done. On the road, against Oak Creek, which hadn’t lost a conference game in over a decade, Meaux showed up and was the most dynamic player on the floor. Not only did Franklin win that game, but they also controlled the final 30 minutes. Meaux is a game-changer.
Grace Zortman Grace Zortman 5'6" | CG Homestead | 2025 State WI
Every team in D1 who has aspirations of going to state and winning a gold ball has a kid who plays with a screw or two loose, and Homestead has a few of them, but the more, the merrier. There aren’t many kids at 5-foot-6 who attack the boards as Zortman does. I don’t know many other kids who grab every offensive rebound when the ball hits the floor. Zortman paired with Katelyn Odem Katelyn Odem 5'8" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI means the Highlanders will fly around the floor, make hustle plays and earn extra possessions, which is a way to win games in the postseason.
Rylan Oberg Rylan Oberg 5'7" | CG DeForest | 2024 State WI
The DeForest junior is a kid who projects well to the next level for a few reasons. One, she’s a long athlete with a nose for the ball. Two, she can create her shot off the dribble, and her length makes her not fun to have to play against for 36 minutes. I saw one of the worst games the Norskies have played this season, but Oberg’s quality still shined through. Her ability to make things happen on both ends of the floor can’t be understated.
