Continue ReadingFields has taken a leap from Year 1 to Year 2 which is scary to imagine considering she was a First Team All-State performer last season. Fields dominated the paint on Thursday. Her length is game changing. She blocks shots without hardly ever leaving the floor as she walls up so well. Jessica has tremendous hands, a vacuum that sucks up any rebounds in her area. Jessica impressed me with how well she was able to move her feet and defend smaller guards on the perimeter. Her wingspan swallows up ball handlers and makes it incredibly difficult for them to get anywhere. What really stood out to me was Fields’ mid-range game. She has a high repeatable release and drops in shots with a soft touch. On the low block, she has patient footwork and will step through defenders. Jessica tallied 19 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal and 6 blocks.
Alexander is an interesting player. She’s physical, gifted with a strong lower half. Her powerful legs give her great speed for her size. Ciara was able to break presses from the middle of the floor, catching and turning to drive to the rim where she finished with both hands. Alexander wore down the smaller Eagles as the game went on, dumping in 12 fourth quarter points. Ciara is a force on the offensive glass. She tallied 23 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks.
Highlights
Paris has a knack for scoring. She finds ways to get into the paint and drops in floaters over length. She’s a dangerous three-point shooter that creates off the dribble.
I am on the Graycen Ehlen Graycen Ehlen 6’0″ | SF Walton | 2025 State GA bandwagon. If she continues to improve each season, I don’t see why D-I schools and high-level D-II programs wouldn’t be seriously tracking her. Ehlen physically gifted. She has great genetics giving her a powerful frame with broad shoulders and fluid body control. At 6-foot tall, Graycen moves like a guard, playing at her own pace with a smoothness about her game. Her ability to play multiple positions gives her great upside and value. Obviously she is strong enough to do serious damage in the paint, scoring on putbacks and using the rim to shield her shot with reverse layups. Ehlen also creates mismatches on the perimeter with how well she handles the ball. She makes deft one-handed passes off the dribble and can power her way to the rim on drives. Graycen mixes in perimeter shooting with range out to the three-point line. Defensively, not only does she clean the glass at a high rate, she’s able to defend different spots and provides a shot blocking presence. I missed the first three minutes of the game, but from what I statted, Graycen posted a robust 17 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 3 blocks in a 63-51 win over Etowah. Also a goal keeper in soccer, I expect Ehlen to have multiple offers in each sport.
Lexy isn’t your typical D-III player. The Wash U-signee will be an immediate game changer in St. Louis. Harris is a D-I level player. Her size and ability to score in multiple ways all while doing so in a physical nature is tough to handle. Lexy likes to bang inside and has impressive footwork with her back to the basket. She is a serious threat from the high post with her mid-range jumper and can put the ball on the floor to score through contact on drives. Lexy is a steady shot blocker and rebounder. She is one of the best 2023 post players in Georgia.
CiCi Childers
CiCi Childers
While she may not get the headlines over at Walton, CiCi Childers is a sneaky good player and incredibly important for the Raiders. She’s a scrappy guard that plays with energy on both sides of the ball. Childers is a very good three-point shooter that can score off the catch and off the dribble and is one of Walton’s most trusted ball handlers. She attacks plays with vigor and is good decision maker. She tallied 10 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block vs. Etowah.
D-III and D-II programs have Megan Reed Megan Reed 6’1″ | C Etowah | 2024 State GA on their radar. The junior is a physical low post presence that throws her weight around and can score both at the rim and from the perimeter. Reed has good moves on the block, scoring on hook shots, power drop steps with both hands and turnaround jumpers. She can space the floor all the way out to the three-point line with her stroke. Her rugged play inside balanced with her finesse shooting touch makes her a tough cover. Reed tallied 13 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 blocks in the action I saw against Walton.

Taylor Davis
Taylor Davis
Davis didn’t have her best offensive game, but there is long-term potential to tap into. She is long and athletic on the perimeter. She proved she could make a positive impact without scoring, relying on her floor game. Taylor provides defensive versatility and is a capable rebounder. Davis tallied 2 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.
