After much deliberation and a number of fantastic performances across the state, we narrowed down our search to four players in each of the three regions of New Jersey. It's time to choose our Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey Players of the Week, something that will continue through to the end of the season, where we highlight three players weekly.

North Jersey

[player_tooltip player_id='325186' first='Faith' last='Fedd-Robinson'] - Newark Central (2024)

Fedd-Robinson was an easy choice for us this week in North Jersey and what great performances she's put on this entire season. This week exemplified that very much so, averaging 28/15/4 in two games with 5.5 BPG and 6 SPG, another two double-doubles for the junior standout. In 19 games played this season, Fedd-Robinson has posted 16 double-doubles, 10 of which being 20/10 games. She's also recorded 11 games of five or more blocks and nine games of five or more steals.

Central Jersey

[player_tooltip player_id='482256' first='Chloe' last='Messer'] - Jackson Memorial (2023)

It was an incredibly close race between a few players to see who was our Central Jersey pick this week, but when it came down to it, Messer put together some fantastic performances consecutively, a 20-point and 28-point game for Jackson Memorial, averaging 22 PPG over three games along with 3 RPG, 2.7 APG, 1.7 BPG and 2.3 SPG. Messer currently has a streak of eight-straight games in double-figures, all eight of those scoring 13 points or more. She's averaging 15.7 PPG for Jackson Memorial this season.

South Jersey

[player_tooltip player_id='321560' first='Hope' last='Goodwine'] - Winslow (2023)

Again, some fantastic performances in South Jersey, but we could only pick one player and pound-for-pound, Goodwine had one of the most dominant weeks of the season, seemingly reaching new levels of dominance with Winslow as a senior. Not one, but two 30-point performances Goodwine posted, averaging 24.7 PPG in three games and 5.7 steals per game. She scored a career-high 38 points against Washington Township on Saturday and is currently averaging 19.5 PPG as a senior.

Performance of the Week

[player_tooltip player_id='325191' first='Angelina' last='Zagone'] - Gateway (2024) 48 points against Lindenwold on 1/26

As we will do every week for the rest of the season, we will not only give three players of the week for New Jersey, but also highlighting our performance of the week, which goes to Gateway senior [player_tooltip player_id='325191' first='Angelina' last='Zagone']. Thursday saw her score a career-high 48 points for the Gators against Lindenwold, knocking down 9 three-pointers, recording 10 rebounds and adding three blocks to the mix. Zagone is now part of a select few with a 40-point double-double this season.
