Leslie has been lights out so far this season and has been putting her permanent mark on the girls basketball program. She recently became just the fourth player in school history to eclipse the 1000 point mark. The Alma commit has the ability to help Greenville reach impressive heights.
Thomas has been electric for her Trenton squad. Not only has she put the ball through the hoop, but she’s shown that she can do it quickly and in bunches. Thomas is a matchup nightmare for many opponents. She hasn’t just been a scorer though, as she’s thrown up a handful of double-doubles in points and rebounds.
I really like the way Thelen plays and approaches the game. She doesn’t let how many points she scores dictate her game. Yes, she WILL get her buckets, but there are other aspects of her game that shine as well. Thelen is a terrific passer that very rarely turns the ball over. She’s a plus defender with good defensive anticipation and vision.
You know the old saying: “You can’t stop her, you can only hope to contain her.” Well, that seems pretty accurate in this case. Smith has the physical strength and toughness to just flat out dominate many of her opponents. But she can also play with finesse and is a very underrated passer off the wings.
Kincaid is the 2021-2022 season’s Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Player of the Year for the class of 2023. She’s playing that same way again this year. Kincaid’s game is so well rounded that she’s basically guaranteed to find a way to influence the outcome of a game. I really hope that she’s given a long look as a player deserving of a seat at the final table for Miss Basketball.
