As the postseason gets closer, I'm highlighting some teams to watch as groups that can cause teams issues in the sectional rounds if they get there. There are plenty of groups that fit this description, but there are four that I'll highlight today and possibly more I'll talk about at a later date.

Wausau West

The Warriors have a handful of scholarship-level players and kids who fit roles. [player_tooltip player_id='264954' first='Lexie' last='White'] is a wing who can score points in bunches and create her shot. [player_tooltip player_id='342358' first='Kelly' last='Kray'] is a 6-foot-2 athletic forward who can cover ground defensively quickly. [player_tooltip player_id='206583' first='Molly' last='Anderson'] is a four who can generate extra possessions by rebounding on both ends of the floor. Also, Kenzie Deaton is a guard who wants to take the challenge defensively and bother talented guards and wings.

New London

Everything the Bulldogs do goes through senior [player_tooltip player_id='206582' first='Lizzie' last='Steingraber']. The thing to remember about her is that the St. Thomas commit doesn't look to score every time down the floor. If she has to, she can, but her best attribute is her vision and passing. It's not uncommon to see her in the short corner posting up and firing a cross-court pass to the corner. She creates good shots out of nothing.

South Shore

Division 5 is open this season, and anyone could win it. South Shore has a few kids who change a game in a few possessions. Stevens Point commit [player_tooltip player_id='206731' first='Lily' last='Truchon'] is one of the most productive kids in the state, and it's not uncommon to see her record triple-doubles for the Cardinals. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='444792' first='Emily' last='Montgomery'] had a solid summer in AAU and carried that form into the high school season. She's shot the ball well and been excellent around the rim. South Shore is one of the smallest schools in the state and could make a run this postseason.

Pius XI

The Popes boast loads of guard talent. Sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='338941' first='Tess' last='Wiczek'] and [player_tooltip player_id='338944' first='Georgia' last='Acompanado'] are one of the most talented backcourts in the state. Guard [player_tooltip player_id='338964' first='Addison' last='Miranda'] is one of the best catch-and-shoot threats around. Even Senior [player_tooltip player_id='329558' first='Kailey' last='Wozniak'] came into this season better and has shown versatility in her game offensively. They'll have to get through Wisconsin Lutheran, who they've split the season series, to get to another sectional final. However, if they get there, they'll match up with one of the favorites to get to a D2 state-title game in reigning D2 runner-ups Pewaukee
