Carlee Rochford Carlee Rochford 5'10" | PG New Hampton | 2023 State IA
The Chickasaw senior is the third leading scorer in the state, with 25.8 points per contest. Rochford is also a prolific rebounding forward, bringing in over seven and a half rebounds per game. The unique thing about Rochford is that she’s dominant while being the name at the top of every scouting report. The next leading scorer for the Chickasaws has under seven points per game, so Rochford carries a heavy workload and has helped her team be competitive this season.
The South Central Calhoun senior stands out in volleyball and basketball, but today we’re talking about how good she’s been for the Tigers this winter. Batta is averaging 24.6 points per game and nearly ten rebounds in her senior season. I love that she can shoot the ball at a high level to pair with her ability on the interior. Batta’s shot a healthy amount of 3-pointers and is an over 40% 3-point shooter at around the halfway point of the season. She’s been outstanding.
In my opinion, Palmer has done the most to help herself this season. Palmer helped the Little Hawks compete after some weirdness in the offseason. The Little Hawk sophomore is 20th in the state with 20.9 points per contest. This season hasn’t been as good as last season as a team, but Palmer is helping this team compete against some of the more talented groups in the state. With Palmer on the floor, the Little Hawks aren’t a pushover. Her ability to score in volume is indispensable. On any given night, Palmer and the Little Hawks could shock somebody.
Sydney Doeschot Sydney Doeschot 5'8" | PG Kingsley-Pierson | 2026 State IA
The freshman from Kingsley-Pierson has been in the top 15 in scoring all year, and she’s made high school seem easy. The 1A Panthers have been excellent thanks to their freshman’s ability to break games open with her athleticism. The freshman leads her team in scoring, rebounds, and steals. All those aspects of the game are ones where Doeschot gets to explode and make something happen with the ball, which is where she’s at her best on the floor.
