With so many games starting at 6 PM, and many with technical difficulties, I did my wraparound outside of 6A and was I glad to catch some amazing action in 5A including Amarillo vs Monterey.
I often have people talking about great games yet for me, a close game doesn't always equate to a GREAT game however when you have multiple players dropping three pointers at the buzzer to keep this thing going, as well as role players stepping up to the plate and hitting home runs, this was very exciting for me because I don't recall ever seeing a 5 OT game in my 20 years, and certainly not one of this magnitude, here are the STANDOUTS

AMARILLO

[player_tooltip player_id='395753' first='McKenzie' last='Smith']-6'0 SG/SF [2023] North Texas

Smith dropped 32 in a variety of ways yet her 3-pointer from past NBA range sent the game into its 5th OT. She scored around the basket, off the dribble, finished after contact, and dropped the midrange but her consistent scoring to tie the game as well as hitting go-ahead baskets throughout the overtime periods JUST DID IT for me

[player_tooltip player_id='590862' first='Taytum' last='Bell']-5'11 SG [2024]

Bell as in RING MY came up clutch, tying the game with a free throw in overtime #2 yet she spread her 12 points out throughout the game. She also applied defensive pressure, both in and outside the paint and she hit the boards

[player_tooltip player_id='388153' first='Jada' last='Graves']-5'3 PG [2024]

Graves sold me heading into her freshman year playing for an INDEPENDENT and she's a perfect example of "the game starts at the 1". Her clutch baskets throughout the game were HUGE, she scored 14 points, yet just as important, setting her teammates up for big shots, like hitting [player_tooltip player_id='587558' first='Lacey' last='Rice'] in the corner to send the game into OT #4 and then the Smith 3-pointer to send the OT #5

[player_tooltip player_id='587558' first='Lacey' last='Rice']

Rice scored 8 points including that pressure 3 to keep the suspense going. She also hit a go-ahead basket in the 4th OT but she also rebounded and defended while getting hers "in the flow"

MONTEREY

[player_tooltip player_id='391608' first='Kelly' last='Mora']-6'0 C [2023] Texas Tech

Mora was virtually unstoppable in the paint scoring at least 8 of her 22 points in OT, I picked the game up in the second OT period yet she picked her team up in a variety of ways with those huge baskets, as well as rebounding along with a key blocked shot

Heaven Limon-5'6 CG [2023]

Limon hit both of her baskets in OT, on the baseline including one for their go-ahead lead in OT #4

[player_tooltip player_id='307744' first='Aaliyah' last='Chavez']-5'9 PG [2025]

Chavez was her usual exciting and entertaining self yet her setting teammates up for gimmes was key in their win. Yeah, she dropped 22 but her time management and handling the ball under pressure were key

[player_tooltip player_id='597329' first='Ambrosia' last='Cole']-5'5 CG [2026]

Cole has the right last name because she was COLE and with ice water running through her veins, she knocked down some pressure free throws as well as shots to help secure the victory. The talented freshman also dropped 22 points
