Anna Moser, 5’3 G – Rutland High School Class of 2026
Moser’s freshman campaign has been truly impressive. She’s jumped right into a starting role for Rutland as a highly important contributor. She put together a few 20-point performances and likely averaged around 12-13 ppg. Moreover, it’s her understanding of the game that shines through. She makes smart, quick decisions with the ball, is never stagnant off the ball, and can score it consistently from deep and in the paint. Plus, she’s one of the scrappiest guard defenders out there. Moser is legit.
Bree McDonald, 5’4 G – Burlington High School Class of 2025
It’s Bree’s ability to control the game that is most intriguing. McDonald’s fully capable of making halfcourt teams uncomfortable with 3/4 on-ball pressure and open court playmaking. Or she can slow it down and get BHS into sets, dissecting the defense with crisp passing, paint touches, and highly efficient shooting within 15 feet. Simply, she’s a three-level scoring floor general with solid off-ball instincts. And defensively she gets in ballhandlers air space while rotating intuitively in scramble mode. She’s coming into her own as a two-way player.
Cherise Shamp, 5’10 G/W – Mount Mansfield Union High School Class of 2023
If Cherise is on the floor, everyone knows it. Shamp finds a way to make an impact in every play, whether she’s battling for offensive boards, tracking down loose balls, or pressing ballhandlers and affecting passes. Cherise is simply everywhere. She’s a consistent double-double threat with her savvy slashing, post game, and rebounding prowess. Moreover, she’s an electric defender who can defend 1-3, forcing turnovers and faulty possessions constantly. Shamp is a premier open court player and leaves absolutely everything on the floor.
Samara Ashooh, 6’0 F – Champlain Valley Union High School Class of 2024
Fundamentally sound, intuitive court-awareness, and high IQ, Samara Ashooh is efficient and effective. The mobile 4 has fantastic post instincts. She’s physical down low and puts up a strong target for passers, then with the ball in her hands she has an array of options. Ashooh has a nice bag of moves for finishes, plus she’s an adept passer, reading the defensive coverage in real time and picking them apart. And on the defensive end there’s no let up. She locks down the paint with post denial and straight-up defense, cleans glass, and runs the floor. Can’t ask for much more.
Sydney Perry, 6’1 F – Windsor High School Class of 2024
Perry’s absolute dominance throughout the year ensured an All-State selection. Sydney averaged around 15 and 15 on the year, adding 2-3 blocks a game and assists to go with. Sydney is a vehement defender and glass cleaner, constantly affecting shots with her length and verticality while never taking herself out of the play. On the offensive end she has post moves on both sides of the rim, and her passing out of the post is sharp. Moreover, she collects tons of offensive boards and finishes second chance opportunities at a high clip. Sydney puts a ton of work in and the numbers back it up.
