Angie’s D3 Central Takeaways – 2/17

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I had the opportunity to watch Bishop Ready take on Fairbanks on 2/17. The atmosphere was outstanding, as both sides were filled with excitement and noise. Here are my takeaways from this game! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='315018' first='Carly' last='Lehman']</strong> had an outstanding night, and was the MVP of the evening! To watch Carly score her 1000th career point at the end of the game, was an emotional moment to witness- While Lehman has made this look easy, it certainly was hours and years of working at her game! She has a beautiful outside shot, but what I love more than anything else is her passion, high desire to rebound, hustling after every loose ball, and finding the open spots to dribble penetrate- and her court vision in locating teammates is so very strong! I like her quick release, how she squares up, and the confidence she plays with, in wanting to take big shots. She runs the floor very well, finishes strong on transition, and I love her footwork! Very tough to stop in the paint and on the block. And I love how she immediately creates fast break situations as soon as she rebounds! She is relentless inside, loves to play physical, and has no problem taking care of boards and going hard to the basket. Very active hands, and I love her length, speed, and ability to jump. Uses the glass well. Nails shots from outside, dribble penetrates, takes care of the basketball, and handles pressure well.
