The Saturday Showdown between Jones Longhorns and Lincoln Christian was a highly anticipated game, with Jones ranked #3 in 3A and Lincoln Christian ranked #1 in 4A. The first half of the game was intense, with Jones putting up a strong fight and leading by two points at halftime with a score of 20-18. However, the second half was dominated by Lincoln Christian, who stepped up their game and outscored Jones. Despite the tough competition, Lincoln Christian emerged victorious with a final score of 58-41.
The game was characterized by a balanced effort from Lincoln Christian, with four players scoring in double figures. Ellie Brueggemann Ellie Brueggemann 5'11" | SG Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK led the way with 14 points, followed by Aubrey Hopkins and Kayli Atkinson Kayli Atkinson 5'8" | SG Lincoln Christian | 2026 State OK with 13 points each, and Maddi Stewart Maddi Stewart 5'9" | SG Lincoln Christian | 2026 State OK contributing a solid 12 points. On the other hand, Jones was led by Boston Berry Boston Berry 5'7" | CG Jones | 2023 State OK who scored 10 points, with Zoe Tucker, Audrey Bain, and Sofi Woodson each scoring 8 points.
The Lincoln team demonstrated excellent teamwork and coordination, with players passing the ball and finding opportunities to score. They also showed a high level of skill and determination, executing tough shots and making aggressive moves to the basket. The Jones Longhorns put up a noble effort, and made a run in the 4th – attacking the basket.
In conclusion, the Saturday Showdown was a thrilling game that showcased the talent and skills of both teams. Although Jones put up a strong fight, Lincoln’s outstanding shooting at the free-throw line made the big difference. Converting on 22 out of 25 free-throws to Jones’ 7 of 11. Attacking the basket more could have made a difference for the Longhorns. With this win, Lincoln remains the top team in 4A and will be a team to watch as the season comes to a close going into the playoffs.

Ellie Brueggemann Ellie Brueggemann 5’11” | SG Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK was solid in the game against Jones, displaying her reliable shooting ability with 2 three-pointers, including a clutch side-step shot in the 3rd quarter. Her impressive 8 for 8 performance at the free-throw line added to her 14 points, contributing to the big win for her team.
Boston Berry Boston Berry 5’7″ | CG Jones | 2023 State OK had a decent performance in the game against Lincoln. Although she may have played better in other games, she still provided valuable contributions for her team, setting the pace in the first quarter with a couple of mid-range pull up jumpers and a strong fadeaway jumper. Berry’s tough and determined play is fun to watch, and she remains one of the top players in Oklahoma for sure.

Zoe Tucker was a standout in the 4th quarter, helping to fuel Jones’ late run. Her aggressive play, including quick transition baskets and purposeful attacks to the basket, was impressive. If she had brought this level of intensity to the earlier parts of the game, the outcome may have been different.
Kayli Atkinson Kayli Atkinson 5’8″ | SG Lincoln Christian | 2026 State OK was impressive in the game against Jones, showcasing her speed and athleticism. Her transition scoring was good and she used her body control to execute a smooth spin move and finish at the rim and an early 3-pointer. She contributed 13 points to the win, proving to be a valuable asset to her team.
