There will always be good games to watch, with good matchups, and with those good matchups come standout performances from some of the top and underrated players around the state. Here we will take a look at a few that happened over the last week.
As soon as the ball tipped, Kaitlin was ready to display her high-level scoring ability. She was on fire from behind the arc early in the first quarter hitting four, and did not slow down one bit ending the game with 10 made threes. She is very reliable in catching and shooting, and did well moving as the ball moves to put her self in a good position for open shots. She was actively cutting to the basket and getting paint touches, she plays well off two feet and is a very capable finisher. Kaitlin finished with 36 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Highlights
Miya has the size and athleticism ready for the next level. She is a straight-line driver and when she gets into the paint she shoots it at a high percentage while giving you multiple opportunities at the rim. She can rebound and start the break as she excels in transition. She used that size and athleticism rounding up 15 rebounds shooting 8-19 from the floor giving her team 27 points around the rim and the free-throw line. As she continues to add to her game on the perimeter she is going to be a dangerous inside and out threat. Northeastern University is getting a good one for the next four years.
Ameya is a freshman to keep an eye on for the next few years. She already has a good skill set and plays with much confidence. She contributes on or off the ball, displayed good vision to create, and showed how she can score off the dribble from the perimeter. Her role is going to continue to expand as the games go on. She had a great effort on defense gathering 6 steals.
Highlights
Breonna is the floor general for Terry Sanford. She is quick, athletic, and buys in on the defensive end. She plays physical on-ball defense, handles the ball well under pressure, knows how to find open teammates, and can get to the rim with her quick first step and finish. She has a good all-around game that impacts the game from all areas when under control. Finished with a team-high 6 assists.
Jamaria Freeman Jamaria Freeman 5’6″ | CG NC GBB | 2025 State NC is a skilled scoring guard who can get downhill, change directions, create space, and score it from multiple levels. She uses her body well to take contact, she has a handle to get to her spots, and a good touch when shooting the ball. She was aggressive and didn’t take many bad shots even though she was the main focus of the defense. 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists to end the game.
Highlights
Serenity was by far the best playmaker to step foot on the court. She consistently found open teammates to get easy scoring opportunities. She does a great job at getting paint touches and making the right read to attack or move the ball. She plays with a good IQ valuing every possession. She is a continuous threat attacking the basket. Her defensive effort is not to go unnoticed as she guarded her position well, and she played good help defense finishing with 4 steals, 22 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds in the win.

In most cases, it takes a freshman some time to get adjusted to varsity basketball before they start to make an impact. In Meredith’s case, she has come right on in and made her contributions to give her team a chance to win every time out. Coming in averaging 10 ppg and 6 rpg. She comes in her freshman season able to stretch the floor for her team shooting it at a good percentage without having to put the ball on the floor. She has good size and feels to make an impact outside the perimeter and in the post. She did a lot of her work around the rim being physical, active for rebounds, and being in the right spot at the right time. She plays through contact well for her age and was as aggressive as a scorer as you can be on the inside. 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block in the win over Cox Mill.
