First, we have to get through the regional finals in Class 2A through 7A. Prep Girls Hoops Florida is taking a deeper dive at the top five matchups to watch on Friday night.
King’s Academy at Seffner Christian- Friday at 7:00pm: The King’s Academy Lions (22-4) are looking to get back in the Final Four for the second consecutive season, led by senior Janessa Williams Janessa Williams 5'10" | SF King’s Academy | 2023 State FL and sophomore Jade Jones Jade Jones 5'11" | SF King's Academy | 2025 State FL . The Lions also come into play on a 12-game winning streak. On the other side, the Seffner Christian Crusaders (25-4) are eyeing the Final Four which will be their first appearance since 2017. Keep an eye on senior combo guard Nini Davenport Nini Davenport 5'3" | PG Seffner Christian | 2023 State FL and junior power forward Nicole Carreno Nicole Carreno 5'10" | SF Seffner Christian | 2024 State FL .
St. Thomas Aquinas at Blanche Ely- Friday at 7:00pm: The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders (21-8) are looking to get back into the Final Four for the 3rd consecutive year have been led by 5’9 senior combo guard Karina Gordon Karina Gordon 5'8" | CG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State FL (East Carolina signee) and sophomore Nyla McFadden Nyla McFadden 5'11" | SF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2025 State FL . Colonial at Spruce Creek- Friday at 7:00pm: The Colonial Grenadiers (20-8) have been clicking at the right time reaching the regional final, as a district runner-up have been led by the dynamic backcourt between senior Sophya Barriero and junior Carmen Richardson Carmen Richardson 5'8" | CG Colonial | 2024 State FL . The Grenadiers are looking to advance to their second consecutive Final Four and fourth in school history.
