Tuscarora added to their impressive season by capturing a region 4C title after a gutsy win over Sheranado. Alysa Carrigan Alysa Carrigan 5’11” | SF Tuscarora | 2024 State VA had 11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. In the previous round against Millbrook, Carrigan had 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 steals. Alysa always plays bigger than her size collecting rebounds and playing big inside. She was terrific defensively all week and earned a well-deserved shoutout.
Highlights
Another Tuscarora Husky that showed out this week was Senior guard Grace Middleton Grace Middleton 5’6″ | SG Tuscarora | 2023 State VA . She had 12 against Millbrook, but what impressed me was her performance against Sheranado in the championship game. She got off to a rocky start in the first half, the biggest reason Tuscarora was down at the break. In the second half, Grace took over, knocking down a few threes and helping Tusky pull away. She finished with 22 points.
Fadima had two excellent performances this week. She had 21 points and 6 rebounds against Sidwell Friends in a loss. Then she filled the stat sheet against Potomac School with 16 points, 3 rebounds, four steals, and 3 steals. Fadima led Georgetown Visitation to a 2-1 week and was outstanding all week.
Kymora Johnson Kymora Johnson 5’8″ | CG St. Anne’s Belfield | 2023 State VA had a complete basketball game against Collegiate on Tuesday with 21 points, 4 assists, 9 rebounds, and a spectacular 7 steals in a nearly 40-point win. Against Saint Gertrude, Kymora had a terrific offensive night. She had 33 points, 8 assists, and 10 rebounds in a 28-point victory. She was a sniper from 3 and controlled the game. Everything came easy to her—another stellar week from an exceptional talent.
Osbourn park went 3-0 this week and won the Class A region B title. In their first game of the week, Alana had 17 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals in a thumping of Charles J. Colgan. She was part of a balanced scoring effort in their previous game against Woodbridge. Then in the final, she played a massive role in Osbournes ridiculous 20-0 run to down Gainesville. The senior guard has a complete offensive game and has been the catalyst for Osbourne Park’s dominance all year. She plays hard and is a terrific leader. She deserves more recognition for her play this year.
