The 2022-23 High School season is coming to an end this week, who are the top players in FHSAA classifications 1A-3A.
Taliah Scott Taliah Scott 5'8" | SG St. John's Country Day | 2023 State #31 Nation FL (St. Johns Country Day) – 5’10 Guard – Class of 2023
Scott was recently nominated to the McDonald’s All-American team being selected as one of the top 24 players in the senior class nationally. Scott simply put can do it all and currently leads the state in scoring at 35.8 points per game while also averaging 9.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. She can stroke it from deep, attack off the dribble, blow by her defenders in the open court and the half court and does it while making it look effortless.
Ariana Mosley (Tampa Prep) – 5’9 Guard – Class of 2023
Mosley was one of the top scorers in Florida all season finishing the season averaging 22.1 points per game. Mosley is uber athletic and is most dangerous in the open court and with the ball in her hands. She is a highflyer who attacks the rim relentlessly and finishes high up in the air. Mosley has an explosive first step, often making her defenders look like they are moving in slow motion.
Olivia Davis Olivia Davis 5'7" | CG Cardinal Mooney | 2023 State FL (Cardinal Mooney) – 5’6 Guard – Class of 2023
Davis is the unquestioned leader of Cardinal Mooney’s squad getting it down on the court while setting the tone for her team with her energy, effort, communication, and leadership skills. She is a true point guard who handles the ball on a string and consistently handles any pressure thrown at her. Davis is a high percentage 3-point shooter who can knock it down both off the catch and off the bounce. She is always in control of game’s tempo and is equally effective with the ball in her hands playing out of ball screens as she is when left open beyond the arc.
Trinidy Harris Trinidy Harris 5'4" | PG Wildwood | 2025 State FL (Wildwood HS) – 5’4 Guard – Class of 2025
Wildwood is a favorite to win the 1A state championship year in and year out and this year is no different. At 5’4, Harris is Wildwood go to player averaging 22.8 points per game while shooting 48% from the field. Harris offensive input is a huge leap from last season to this season nearly doubling her points per game from her Freshman season. If Wildwood is to take home a state championship, it will need a huge offensive output in both games from Harris.
Emely Rodriguez Emely Rodriguez 6'1" | SF Central Pointe Christian | 2024 State FL (Horeb Christian) – 6’1 Wing / Forward – Class of 2025
Rodriguez has burst on the Florida prep scene this year and quickly cemented herself as one of the top players in the state averaging an impressive 26.4 points per game while shooting 68 percent from the field while also averaging 15.5 rebounds, 5.5 steals, 4.9 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game. She is a naturally gifted offensive player who is extremely versatile and can single handedly take over games with her ability to put the ball in the basket from anywhere on the court.
Holland Harris Holland Harris 6'2" | SF Monteverde Academy | 2025 State FL (Faith Christian Academy) – 6’1 Wing – Class of 2025
Harris is a do it all type of player who is long, versatile, and athletic. Harris made the move over to Faith Christian this season and quickly became one of the top players in 2A. She is a hard player to guard because she can do it from inside and from outside, scoring over the top of smaller defenders in the paint while also having the ability to stretch the defense and knock down open shots from the perimeter.
Kayla Nelms Kayla Nelms 6'1" | PF Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL (Miami Country Day) – 6’1 Forward – Class of 2024
Nelms is one of the state’s most efficient offensive players shooting an exceptionally high percentage both from 3 and in the paint. At 6’1, she is dangerous at the top of the key, knocking down open 3s at a 50% clip. When not knocking down open 3s, Nelms makes her presence known in the paint, establishing low post position and rebounding the ball on bot the offensive and defensive ends.
Lena Girardi Lena Girardi 5'10" | SF IMG Academy | 2025 State FL (Westminster Academy) – 5’10 Guard – Class of 2025
Girardi got it done all season, consistently filling up the stat sheet. One of the state’s most efficient scorers, Girardi does most of her damage in the paint, slicing and dicing by her defenders and contorting her body in and around the rim, finishing with both her right and left hands and getting to the free throw line often.
