This is a loaded position in the Commonwealth. All of them should have success at the next

Cincinnati has landed another great recruit from the Commonwealth in Byars. She is a vocal and versatile leader on and off the court, a tremendous athlete, and an even better basketball player. Her versatility on the court is perhaps her greatest asset. She can play any position in the frontcourt and possibly even the backcourt. A player like this is positionless but we list her here because she has the best chance to be elite as a Power Forward. Her size allows her to post up with the Bigs and her quickness gives her the ability to check the Guards.
Tisdale will move about an hour west next season to take her place at Murray State. Her hustle and heart are unmatched on the court and it shows in her defense, rebounding, and running the floor. She has been one of my favorite players to watch these past two seasons. I just can’t help but pull for someone that plays with her kind of passion and drive.

Lind is a highly skilled player with an excellent shot and a toughness streak that will serve her well at Lehigh next season. She has the ability to make an impact as a versatile Three or a Stretch Four, but I suspect she will do a little bit of everything for the Mountain Hawks much like she has done while leading her Lady Jaguars out of the roughly contested 9th Region the last two years.
Barnett has been playing her role as a Stratch 4 expertly in High School and there is no reason to believe she won’t step right into that same position at Ohio University. Defensively she is an excellent shot blocker and on both sides of the ball, she has all of the tangible skills and intangible assets needed to contribute right away.
The worst thing about her graduating is I might not get a chance to chat with her brother Adam nearly as often during games. I get all of the best tips about the game from him during the pre-game sessions. He has become a friend over the last two years. Maybe I will see him play some Unified ball in the future.
Last summer, Clark told me that she didn’t want to play College Basketball, but don’t let that stop you from recruiting her Coach. I don’t claim to know what is best for her, but keeping her involved in basketball for a few more years is what is best for the game. If you think you might have a roster spot for a Stretch 4 with a strong body who can run the floor and play defense you should take a look. You might just find yourself with an inside track to landing a talent that nobody else is pursuing. She can play.
Durbin has been playing a little out of position in High School as the Center of her size-deficient High School team. I think she could make the transition to the Three on the next

She can do a little bit of everything but has primarily shown she can score off the ball and with her back to the basket. She can shoot the mid-range jumper and put the ball on the floor. And I am not 100% certain but I believe she is still uncommitted. That won’t last long, so make that phone call soon Coach.
Cowan has monster-sized hustle and toughness. When the ball goes up she will have her opponent sealed off from the bucket and be loaded up, ready to explode after the rebound. She is very physical, strong, and determined to make an impact on the court. She has some finesse to her game, but her penchant to bang and deliver the blow overshadows it so much that I expect most less nuanced viewers would think she is a brute. She reminds me of me, only better, and with better hair.
I think we have Barret ranked too low and I’ll take the blame for that because I know that I didn’t speak up for her when we discussed the Rankings recently. We all add our input but we can’t all see everybody play and it is possible that no one else on the team did. So that was an oversight on my part.
The good news is I doubt it will hurt her chance of playing on the next

. She was on a good team, in a populated area with other prospects on her team. She also plays for a travel team that is recruited heavily. I highly doubt College Coaches missed out on finding a prospect with her size, skill, and athleticism. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t have done better in regard to her placement on this list.
