After catching Monterrey defeat Amarillo in a 5 OT THRILLLLLLAAAAA, I was sold on those being the 2 best teams in 5A yet the season is broken down, by me, into 3 segments, preseason, district, and the playoffs and in a one-game playoff, anything can happen

Frisco Liberty was NOT the same team I caught at the Sandra Meadows Classic, Texas #1 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='510461' first='Jacy' last='Abii'] wasn't 100% yet this time around, she was that and more as she helped make the difference, and here are the TOP PERFORMERS I saw in the CHAMPIONSHIP game, below that is the ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id='158867' first='Keyera' last='Roseby']-5'11 G/F (Frisco Liberty) 2024

Roseby has improved at every level since I caught her back in middle school and she showed out at the Sandra Meadows Classic showing deeper range and being able to create her shot under pressure however her ability to take a game over was on full display, on center stage, and the pull-up jumper from mid to long range, she dropped 3 from deep on her way to 21 points yet she also 6/7 from the line and she was just shy of a double-double, pulling down 8 rebounds

[player_tooltip player_id='267347' first='Journee' last='Harris-Chambers']-5'4 PG (Frisco Liberty) 2023

Harris controlled the tempo by handling the ball under pressure as well as seeing the floor, she dished out 5 assists yet her intensity, on both ends created some problems. She applied pressure "on the ball" baseline to baseline and hit some big shots including a 3 in the 3rd quarter which helped change the momentum

[player_tooltip player_id='510461' first='Jacy' last='Abii']-6'1 G/F (Frisco Liberty) 2026

Abii is sending messages left and right as her ability to play multiple positions, quite well, is making her even harder to handle. She scored around the basket, she scored off the dribble as well as from outside, and her 15 points in a variety of ways spoke volumes yet her handling the ball in the open court as well as coast to coast after rebounding and seeing the floor were all nice but her "playing the passing lane" JUST DID IT for me as she added 4 steals

Carissa Cortez-5'3 G (Lubbock Cooper) 2024

Cortez attacks the basket well and her shiftiness with the ball enabled her to get by defenders with ease. She has good body control on her finishes but she also created her shot and knocked it down from outside.

Majik Esquivel-5'8 G (Lubbock Cooper) 2024

Esquivel not only created her shot under pressure, but she also got it off with a hand in her face. She dropped 4 from BTA yet she also showed she could "catch and shoot" and her quick release was nice but she also did a good job defending and came away with 3 steals. She does a good job running her squad and her court vision, 5 assists, was more than solid but she definitely steps up under pressure
