MVP: Sydney Perry Sydney Perry 6'0" | PF Windsor | 2024 State New E
Sydney Perry Sydney Perry 6'0" | PF Windsor | 2024 State New E , 6’1 F – Windsor High School Class of 2024
D3’s most dominant player was back at it. Finishing with 16 points, 20 boards, and 2 blocks, Sydney and WHS claim the D3 crown for the second straight year. It felt like a typical game for Perry. She dominated the paint on both ends as she battled for position to reel in boards, finish buckets, and bother shots. While she didn’t shoot it as efficiently as we’re accustomed to, she made up for it with hustle, determination, and leadership. Down the stretch she made numerous big plays, including a tough finish that sealed the game. Perry is a competitor and a winner.
Standouts:
Sophia Rockwood Sophia Rockwood 5'7" | CG Windsor | 2025 State New E , 5’7 G – Windsor High School Class of 2025
Even though Sophia was in and out due to foul trouble, she was effective, nonetheless. The primary ballhandler, Rockwood orchestrated the offense and served to create looks for others. She made quick, smart decisions with the ball, got paint touches to collapse the defense, and hit a couple of important shots to help WHS maintain their lead. Somewhat ironically, on defense is where Sophia found her offense. With three steals, Rockwood got out in transition and finished at the cup. Even though she fouled out, her leadership and support of her teammates never wavered. Excellent leadership from the sophomore.
Audrey Rupp Audrey Rupp 5'5" | CG Windsor | 2025 State New E , 5’5 G – Windsor High School Class of 2025
A two-way terror, Rupp was everywhere. Audrey was part of a rotating cast who had the difficult job of containing Addison Cadwell, and Rupp did her piece. She worked Addison with ball pressure, and off the ball she put in work to keep Cadwell from getting to her spots, and at the least, tire her out. Moreover, Rupp knocked down her looks, hit the glass, and made plays for others with crafty offensive creation and dump passes. Audrey finished with eight points, seven boards, three assists, and her work on TA’s guards wore them down. Rupp came to play.
Brianna Barton, 5’7 G – Windsor High School Class of 2025
Barton is another among a crop of talented and gritty WHS underclassmen. With eight points and three assists, Brianna put together a nice game at the combo-guard slot. Brianna knocked down a three and got to the rim for finishes. Plus, her reads against the defense were quick and crisp. She found dump passes and kick outs once she was in the second layer, making simple plays. In addition, she made a big time block in the second half to hamper TA’s momentum. Important work from the sophomore “glue”.
Addison Cadwell, 5’10 G/W – Thetford Academy Class of 2024
Addison and TA had a gameplan and they executed it beautifully. The point-forward managed ball pressure with smart passing and opportune drives. But in the halfcourt, Addison went to the post. She garnered position with smart footwork and physicality and made plays from there. Cadwell was efficient inside, finishing turnaround jumpers, hook shots and counters, leading all scorers with 21. Plus, she did her work defensively and on the glass. Addison had her team in position to win all game. Props to an exceptional game from Cadwell.
Charlize Brown, 5’9 W/F – Thetford Academy Class of 2024
Without a ton of height, I was rather worried that TA would struggle immensely inside. Charlize quelled those concerns. Brown seems to have a positive wingspan, and she used her length mightily against Perry and WHS’ bigs. Charlize bothered shots without fouling, keeping WHS guards at bay, and was an absolute monster on the glass, having to have come near or eclipsed the double-digit mark. Her effectiveness inside, even against Perry, was clear. Charlize was huge for TA in the paint.
Whitney Lewis, 5’10 F – Thetford Academy Class of 2024
Whitney made a big impression in this one! Lewis got the matchup with Perry and her work against Sydney was excellent. Whitney moved her feet well and used her strength and physicality to, at times, stifle Sydney’s interior dominance. Lewis battled for position, challenged shots with high hands, and boxed out quickly in an effort to subdue Perry on the glass. Plus, Whitney provided some crucial offense. She made a couple moves in the post and from 15-feet, taking it to the cup and finishing strong. Lewis’ two-way play was critical for the TA cause.
