Rachel Roderick Rachel Roderick 6'3" | C Camp Verde | 2024 State AZ – is a 6-3 junior center from Red Rock High School in Sedona. This past season she had a number of double-doubles for Red Rock. She also plays on the volleyball team. Combining her stats over her freshman and sophomore seasons, she has 193 kills, 25 blocks, and 22 serving aces. But for her abilities on the basketball court, one scout commented on her game: “She is an interior force inside and one of the best rim protectors in the state.” Another scout had this to say about Rachel’s game: “She is a tall post player with skill and fluidity. She can score on a pull-up jumper off the dribble, score with a drop-step hook shot, and offensive rebound putbacks. Ava gets doubled every touch and still finds ways to score. She runs the floor, rebounds, and will block shots.”
EVALUATION: Only a junior, Rachel is the ultimate post player on both offense and defense. Her wide wingspan and anticipation help make her an outstanding defensive player. She has improved her offensive game dramatically in the last two years and has become an all-around leader for the Lady Saints. She will definitely be playing at the next level after her graduation from high school.
Ysabel Puente Ysabel Puente 5'7" | CG Dream City Christian | 2024 State AZ – is a 5-7 junior guard for Dream City Christian as well as her club team, AZ Elite. On her personal profile: “I have been playing basketball since I was six. My goal is to play college ball and earn a degree. I love the IQ part of the game and am always willing to do what I need to do to assist my teammates and my team in getting better.” Ysabel transferred from Sunrise Mountain High School and in two years there, averaged 7.2 points as a freshman and 10.6 as a sophomore. As a junior at DCC, she averaged 11.6 points per game to go along with 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists. She was selected by Max Preps as Player of the Game on two occasions – November 20 and December 7.
EVALUATION: Ysabel is a lightning-quick guard that possesses great instincts while on the basketball floor. She always gives 100% on both ends and is improving her overall game daily. She maintains a great work ethic and going soon into her senior year, her DCC team is loaded and should have an outstanding season in 2023-2024.
Thalia Daniels Thalia Daniels 6'0" | SF Sandra Day | 2024 State AZ – is a 6-1 junior power forward who plays for Sandra Day O’Connor High School and her club team, Arizona Elite. One scout commented on her game: “She is long, versatile, and athletic with a good three-point shot.” Another scout commented: “She has excellent footwork and body positioning. She is also able to create space from her opponent and follow through on clear, accurate shots. Defensively, she’s a menace. Keep your eyes on her.” A first-team All-Region player, Thalia averaged 11.2 points per game to go along with 6.1 rebounds. A third scout had this to say: “She runs the floor extremely well and has the ability to finish through contact in the post. What separates her from other post players is her ability to stretch the floor from the perimeter. Defensively, she works extremely hard and makes it difficult for opposing players to score over her.”
EVALUATION: Thalia is one of the top prospects in the class of 2024. She defends the rim at both ends of the court and is an intimidating defender. Offensively, she runs the floor well, is an outstanding transition player, and is extremely accurate as both a perimeter and three-point shooter.
