Class of 2025 star Kelis Fisher Kelis Fisher 5'9" | PG IMG Academy | 2025 State FL recently committed to the University of Connecticut. What does that mean for Florida, recruiting, and the entire basketball landscape?
In January, 5’9 Guard Kelis Fisher Kelis Fisher 5'9" | PG IMG Academy | 2025 State FL became one of the first class of 2025 prospects to verbally commit, committing to the University of Connecticut in January. Fisher had visited the UConn campus back in October for their First Night event. She committed to the Husky program via her Instagram account captioning her post:
“I would like to thank my family, friends and coaches. I’m taking my talents to UCONN.”
Originally from Baltimore, Fisher transferred from Roland Park Country Day School in Maryland after her Freshman year to IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. Fisher is a top five player in the class of 2025 in Florida and a top 25 prospect nationally. Fisher selected UConn over a number of offers including Maryland, Florida State, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Arizona State, Harvard, and many others.
Fisher’s commitment is important as she becomes one of the first players in the country to make a decision as to where she wants to attend college with two more years of high school basketball left. On the court, Fisher is a wiz with the ball. She can score in so many ways and just makes the game look easy. She has incredible handle, deep 3-point range, and just an explosiveness and speed with the ball in her hands that makes defenders look like they are moving in slow motion around her! Check out some footage of her from last year.
