Standout forward Kendall Puryear of Blue Springs South has given a commitment to Purdue University. The 6’2″ Puryear made her announcement on her social medial account on Saturday. Puryear is currently the No. 3 player in the Prep Girls Hoops Missouri Class of 2024 rankings.
Puryear was pursued by several Power 5 programs around the country. She wound up choosing the Boilermakers over schools such as Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Missouri and Cincinnati. She is a skilled power forward who is capable of dominating in the paint with her physical strength and shooting touch around the basket.
Puryear just completed her junior season, where she averaged 16.4 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting 59 percent from the field. As a sophomore, she played a big role in the Wildcats advancing to the Final Four of the Class 6 state tournament. She averaged nine points and eight rebounds a game in helping South to a third-place finish.
