Coach Lake Brice’s team won its second title in as many years, finishing the season at 27-3. Seaforth, in just its second year of existence, finished the season at 27-4 and has already compiled 6 playoffs wins since the 2021-2022 season. Here is a look of our top performers from the game.
The 2024 junior had a fantastic day, going off for 15 points and 6 rebounds in route to being named the game’s MVP. Makayla was able to exert her presence into the game from the start and really hit some clutch baskets late. She ran the floor extremely well, making herself a nice target for teammates to find her for wide open looks. She was very aggressive getting to her spots and was a mismatch inside against smaller defenders. She hit a big straight-away jumper late in the game, showing off her range. Defensively, she moved well on her defensive rotations, helping to limit Seaforth to very few open looks at the basket.
Gabby finished with the game’s only double double, pulling in 15 points with 11 rebounds. Awarded the East’s Most Outstanding Player, she did a little bit of everything for her team on Saturday that helped keep her team within striking distance. Gabby truly understands the game of basketball. She did a great job reading the defense and breaking down defenders off the dribble. She used her speed to draw defenders toward her while finding teammates for wide open shots. She knew when to push the tempo and when to slow it down and run the offense. She also moved well off the ball, catching a backdoor pass to get an easy layup. College coaches will want to get in early on Gabby as she projects to be a major contributor on the next level.
Kyla finished with 14 points Saturday to close out her career at Salisbury. The guard really shined defensively where she created havoc for her opponents, disrupting passing lanes and causing multiple turnovers. She was able to lead the fast break well and has deceptive speed as she can really get by defenders for layups. Just an all around solid performance for the NCCU commit.
The West Most Outstanding Player made her biggest impact early on as she knocked down some big 3’s just as it seemed Seaforth was going to run away with the game. Defensively, Icesis was tasked with the assignment of guarding Seaforth’s Gabby White Gabby White 5’10” | CG Seaforth | 2025 State NC who is a load to deal with. Icesis did a good job contesting shots and keeping a body in front of her to help take away driving lanes. Icesis finished with 10 points, going 3-4 from behind the arc.
