There have been some players over the past few weeks or so to commit, take official visits or receive offers, which we’ll discuss in this article.
Casey Prior Casey Prior 5'7" | PG Red Bank Catholic | 2023 State NJ – Red Bank Catholic (2023) commits to Fairfield
The most recent bit of recruiting news came from 2023 guard Casey Prior Casey Prior 5'7" | PG Red Bank Catholic | 2023 State NJ , the Red Bank Catholic mainstay, who announced her commitment to play at Fairfield on March 10.
The shooting guard will be a preferred walk-on at Fairfield, but put together quite the career from deep for the Caseys, hitting 133 three-pointers in her career. Just over the past two seasons alone, Prior has made 92 in 56 games.
Eva Andrews Eva Andrews 5'10" | CG Paul VI | 2024 State NJ – Paul VI (2024) offered by William & Mary
Andrews has burst onto the scene in the past few years for Paul VI and she’s deservedly gotten a number of offers, including her most recent one from William & Mary on March 7.
In her two seasons with Paul VI, Andrews has totaled nearly 500 points and has hit 89 three-pointers in 51 games. She reached the 100 career three-point mark in her last game of the season against St. John Vianney.
CJ Jones – Williamstown (2023) commits to Salem CC
An under-the-radar commitment from a great program, Jones will be staying local, taking her talents to Salem Community College.
She’s been a mainstay down on the post for the Braves and she had a career year this season across the board. Salem is an up-and-coming program in the state and they’ll be getting a key contributor for the coming future in Jones.
Jada Elston Jada Elston 5'8" | SG Middle Township | 2023 State NJ – Middle Township (2023) commits to Kean
Following a senior season that resulted in Middle Township reaching the NJSIAA Group II semifinals, guard Jada Elston Jada Elston 5'8" | SG Middle Township | 2023 State NJ announced her commitment to play at Kean University.
Elston has been the backbone for Middle Township for several years now, recently reaching 1000 career points along with a number of postseason accolades. In the last two seasons alone, the guard has scored over 1000 points and sunk 98 three-pointers in 58 games. This season, she finished averaging 17.5 PPG.
Te’Yala Delfosse Te’Yala Delfosse 6'2" | SF Ewing | 2024 State NJ – Ewing (2024) offered by Fairfield
The newest member of Ewing’s 1000 point club, Delfosse added another offer to her current list as it was posted on February 21 that she received an offer from Fairfield.
Delfosse was one of the best offensive players in North Jersey last season, averaging 15.8 PPG and 7.6 RPG along with 1.3 made three-pointers. She filled up the stat sheet across the board, also averaging just under two blocks a game and just over 3.6 steals a game for the Blue Devils, who won the Group III title over Randolph.
Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ – Morris Catholic (2025) offered by Seton Hall, Delaware
The sophomore phenom for Morris Catholic has two more Division 1 offers she can add to the table as guard Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ was offered by Seton Hall and Delaware in late February.
Matus was fantastic once again for the Crusaders this season, averaging 13.3 PPG against a tougher overall schedule while knocking down 74 three-pointers. She’s hit 70+ three pointers each of her first two seasons at Morris Catholic and has over 150 in her career. Matus also took an unofficial visit at Rutgers recently.
Maya Summerville Maya Summerville 6'0" | SF Morristown | 2024 State NJ – Morristown (2024) offered by Loyola (Md.)
Summerville has been steadily working her way up the totem pole in her high school career and she was deservedly rewarded with her first-ever college offer from Loyola (Md.) on February 18.
The junior had a career year this season, just missing out on a double-double average with 12.3 PPG and 9.9 RPG. Her defense was spectacular, averaging 3.65 blocks a game and 2.7 steals a game while setting career-bests in three-point shooting and assists, averaging 2.7 a game.
Amanda Castro Amanda Castro 5'7" | SG Marlboro | 2023 State NJ – Marlboro (2023) commits to Montclair State
Over the last month, Castro was one of the first players since our last update to make her commitment official, announcing on February 15 her commitment to play at Montclair State.
Castro’s best seasons have come in her last two seasons, peaking at the right time for Marlboro. In that time, she’s scored over 450 points, hit 78 three-pointers and recorded over 210 rebounds and 115 steals. She averaged a career-high 12.7 PPG as a senior.
Precious Wheeler Precious Wheeler 6'3" | PF Franklin | 2025 NJ – Franklin (2025) offered by Seton Hall
An under-the-radar forward in New Jersey, but someone who’s getting plenty of notoriety in North Jersey, Wheeler announced on February 27 that she received an offer from Seton Hall.
Wheeler had a fantastic sophomore season for Franklin, recording nearly 2.8 steals a game while averaging just under 10.0 PPG and 7.6 RPG. She posted three double-doubles during the season and is poised for many more in her high school career.
