While the players listed below may not be featured prominently on regional rankings or get the same coverage as All-State Division 1 athletes, they are making noise and making an impact on their teams across the state.
Amaya Coffie
Amaya Coffie
Amaya Coffie is a quick, athletic guard who shines on the defensive end. Her quick feet and hands allow her to disrupt passing lanes and cause issues for opponents. She is the type of player to come up with a big steal when her team needs it, or turn defensive intensity into offensive production. A rising senior, Coffie has another year of high school basketball to show her talents to the state.
Lainie Bourquin
Lainie Bourquin
Bourquin is a tall, athletic center with good court vision. She is a strong rebounder and shot-blocker who keeps opposing offenses honest with her defensive intensity and prowess. Bourquin is a smart player with good instincts and adds a spark to her Lincoln squad.
Dharma Parks
Dharma Parks
Parks’ game has some elements of a back-to-the-basket center with the versatility and shot-making ability to thrive in more of a “positionless” rotation. A tough rebounder, physical defender and shot blocker, Parks finds many ways to contribute on the floor. Narragansett made a run to the Division 3 title game this season, and with Parks returning next season have a good chance to be among the elite in Division 3 next season.
Olivia Labonte
Olivia Labonte
At just 5’2″ Olivia Labonte is one of the smallest players on the court, but her impact is anything but small. Her speed and defensive instincts and ball-handling skills make her an efficient two-way player with the ability to impact the game when she steps on the court. North Smithfield finished the regular season just under .500 and are poised to rise in the Division 3 rankings next season.
Ella Bolano
Ella Bolano
Bolano is an efficient scorer who can put points up in a hurry for her Middletown squad. A dual sport athlete (softball), Bolano is athletic instincts and conditioning contribute to her effectiveness on the basketball court. Her ball-handling and shot-making abilities make her a rising senior to keep an eye on next season.
