Below is a look at a handful of ladies who stood out during the 2022-2023 season in Southern and Southeastern Indiana.

Trinity Lutheran | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 5-10 G, Trinity Lutheran H.S.
– Bailey built quite a legacy over her four years at Trinity Lutheran, as she will graduate with more than 2200 points, 650 rebounds, 450 assists, and 300 steals. She also made a name for herself as an elite shooter, knocking down 268 3-pointers throughout her career. She has nice length, fluid athleticism, and she can play multiple positions. She is headed to Ohio University to play next Fall.

Corydon Central | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 5-11 F, Corydon Central H.S.
– Ava is another Senior who put together a strong four-year career. She capped it off by leading Corydon to the State Finals this year. She is wiry-strong, athletic, and she plays with a relentless motor. She is really good at operating in the mid-post, where she can attack the basket or knock down the 12 to 15-footer. She has a nice overall feel for the game, and she will definitely be missed.

Bedford North Lawrence | 2024
State
IN
, 2024, 5-9 G, Bedford North Lawrence H.S.
– Chloe has been “on the radar” for some time now, but she finished up her Junior year with outstanding performances throughout the state tournament, including in the State Championship game. She is a really nice athlete in all directions, she’s incredibly skilled, and she can play either backcourt position equally well. She has already accumulated a number of offers, so it will be interesting to see where she commits.
Juliann Woodard

Jennings County | 2024
State
IN
, 2024, 6-0 F, Jennings County H.S.
– Juliann is a strong, physical, and assertive frontline prospect. She is great at carving out space down low, but she has also done a nice job of expanding her game over the years. This season, she was much more of a threat around the perimeter, and when you add that to her game, it only makes her that much more difficult to defend. I have a feeling her offer list will expand a great deal this Spring.
Kelsey Hawkins, 2025, 5-6 G, Austin H.S.
– Kelsey stepped up in her second year, and with the addition of a talented Freshman point guard, she was able to find shots from the perimeter. Kelsey averaged 12.2 ppg for the Lady Eagles, plus she knocked down 44 3-pointers in 24 games. As she continues to get stronger and gain Varsity experience, look for her numbers to only improve the next couple of seasons for this rather young core.
Leah Stevens, 2025, 5-3 PG, Christian Academy of Indiana
– Leah is another youngster who had a breakout year, averaging 14.0 ppg for the Lady Warriors. She isn’t very tall, but she plays much bigger than she is, plus she has solid strength at her height. She has good quickness and is able to turn corners, but she can also shoot the ball, as she buried 58 3-pointers in just 23 games this season. She’s also a part of a young core group that should only get better.
Brynn Owens

Austin | 2026
State
IN
, 2026, 5-5 G, Austin H.S.
– Brynn came into Austin and elevated their play as a group. She has a game mature beyond her years, as she averaged 17.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 3.3 apg as a rookie. She is a solid athlete, she plays with a nice motor, but she is just so skilled and able as a youngster, that it should be fun to watch her game continue to grow as she learns the nuances of the Varsity level. Her, paired with Hawkins (above), will be tough the next couple of years.
Addison Smith

Our Lady of Providence | 2026
IN
, 2026, 5-6 G, Our Lady of Providence H.S.
– Addison is another strong Freshman who played outstandingly for the Lady Pioneers. She averaged 15.8 ppg, 2.0 apg, and 3.6 spg, and she showed the ability to play both on and off the ball. She is a nice all-around athlete, she has good length at her height, and she plays with a really nice motor. She also made 43 3-pointers in 24 games this Winter. Providence is also fairly young and will only get better.
