Mia had another rough first half dealing with foul trouble and a tenacious James Madison defense. But in the second half, Mia found her offense and gave James Madison a lot of trouble. She scored 14 second-half points and used her size to punish James Madison. She had a couple of nice spin moves and displayed her elite touch. She finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the game.
As I mentioned, Mia Woolfolk Mia Woolfolk 6’2″ | PF Manchester HS | 2024 State VA struggled in the first half so much that Manchester had to rely on Rayne Wright Rayne Wright 5’11” | CG Manchester | 2025 State VA to keep them in the game. She had 11 of Manchester’s 19 first-half points, and the game probably would have gotten away from Manchester early if it wasn’t for her. Rayne has one of the best jump shots I’ve seen, and it would have benefited the team more if she had gotten more shots up. She went 4/7 from the field and 4/4 from 3, finishing with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Highlights
Sarah Link
Sarah Link
If you look at the stat sheet, it would tell you Sarah Link had a bad game. She shot 2/11 from the field and had 5 points. But let’s highlight what she did today because it, in many ways, is a microcosm of who she is as a player. She is a fantastic passer as a big, good team defender who can stretch the floor and initiates most of the team’s offense. She hit a clutch three late in the game after struggling for a lot of the game with her shot, and the little contributions she makes are what makes this team go.
Kayla Dixon Kayla Dixon 5’7″ | PG Madison HS | 2023 State VA had one of her best games she’s played. She was outstanding at getting to the rim and finishing. She was undoubtedly Madison’s best offensive player, and without her downhill scoring mentality, Madison probably doesn’t win their 4th straight state title. Dixon finished with 20 points and 4 assists on 8/12 shooting and a perfect 4-4 from the line.

Avery Griepentrog Avery Griepentrog 5’10” | PF James Madison | 2024 State VA was rock solid all game. She played 31 minutes battling against Mia Woolfolk Mia Woolfolk 6’2″ | PF Manchester HS | 2024 State VA for a lot of the game, which is no easy task. Avery finished with 12 points 9 rebounds, and a block. She was 4-6 from the field and knocked down a 3.
Stella Gougoufkas
Stella Gougoufkas
Stella struggled with her jump shot today, going 0/5 from 3 and 4/11 from the field. But she did an excellent job cutting and moving without the ball. Stella came up clutch putting in an and-1 to give James Madison a 3-point lead. This ended up being the game-winner. Gougoufkas finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds.
