Raigan Mccalla had an excellent game in round 1. She had 23 in the first round in a hard-fought 8-point win over St. Catherine’s. She followed that up in the quarterfinal, sinking a bunch of 3s in a blowout loss to PVI. She was one of the only bright spots in an otherwise one-sided game.
Dru Carlton
Dru Carlton
Freshman guard Dru Carlton had a fantastic game against Trinity Episcopal. She hit a lot of open 3s and was tremendous on the break. Dru finished with 24 points and was instrumental in Bishop O’connell’s rout in the first round. This game was a coming-out party for her, and she showed the kind of player she could become heading into the next season.
Erin Woodson Erin Woodson 5’11” | SG Saint Gertrude HS | 2023 State VA has been at the top of Virginia’s scoring list all year, and she showed why in Saint Gertrude’s first-round matchup against St. Stephens and St. Agnes. She poured in 33 points and an astonishing 8 steals. She knocked down 3 threes and was her usual active self on defense.
Bishop Ireton is loaded with talent, but they’ve been given a bad hand with the injuries they’ve had to deal with. Nyla Brooks Nyla Brooks 6’2″ | SF Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA is one of the players that missed time, and since she’s been back, she’s been on a tear. In the quarterfinal against Bishop O’Connell, Nyla had 21 points, leading Bishop Ireton to a 26-point win. She used her length and elite skill all day, and Bishop O’Connell had no answer.
St. Anne’s-Belfield is the number 1 seed in this tournament, but they had a tough time dealing with Potomac School. Kymora Johnson Kymora Johnson 5’8″ | CG St. Anne’s Belfield | 2023 State VA had 32 points, and STAB needed every one of them. She was her usual efficient self making 12/22 from the field and 3/6 beyond the arc. She also had 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals in an excellent all-around game—another big performance in a big game for a big-time talent.
