15U Battle in the Big Friendly Day 1 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Santa Fe Family Life center was loaded with great young talent this past Saturday. Many of the players are currently on their school rosters several are already starters. Impressive to see was the footwork and skill set that several had as a freshman to be sophomore. Listed below are several that stood out to me. Again I try to watch every player. If I missed you today hopefully I will catch you on Day 2</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Arika Feldman Lady PGU Hoops 2026</strong> Arila plays lot taller than her height. Her length makes her a excellent shot blocker. She is a great rebounder that does not need an outlet on fast breaks because of her ball handling skills. A very physical player that does not mind mixing it up with the bigs. Nice footwork in the post area but showed range as well. Impressive player for her size and versatility </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kylie Donney [program_tooltip program_id='712771' first='Playmaker' last='Express']</strong> <strong>2026 </strong> Kylie is an all around guard that showed good leadership from the PG spot for her team. Scrappy defender that knows how to rotate and help on defense. Great open floor vision An aggressive downhill driver when attacking the rim but can read second level defense allowing her to kick or drop a pass off. Has an high IQ for a 2026</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nyla Abdullah Guard [program_tooltip program_id='715669' first='DC' last='Queens OKC'] 2026</strong> Nyla is a very athletic guard with huge hops. Nylquick has a quick first step off the bounce and hesi allowing her to get the paint area Showed a nice mid range floater from about 5 feet out. Great rebounder on both ends of the board gaining several possessions for her team. Tough defender that has quick hands. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Katelyn Bailey OWE 2026</strong> Katelyn showed an all out effort on defense and offense. Strong driver to the basket who is able to take contact and finish the shot. Quick hand and her understanding of defense rotation allowed her to get several steals leading to easy baskets. What was impressive was her ability to create space on a drive with a nice bump so her shot would not get blocked by the much taller players. She has 3 point range if defense players off her as well. Very athletic guard who plays lock down defense forcing several turnovers. Attacks the rim hard when driving and finishes at the rim. Understands the concepts of defense giving her the ability to defend the passing lane but able to help on off ball drives. Good vision in the open floor on fast breaks She has a nice change of speed so when she sees the gap so can attack it. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='624612' first='Reagan' last='Rasmussen'] <strong>[program_tooltip program_id='715751' first='Missouri' last='Storm'] 2026</strong> Long athletic player that has an outstanding skill set. Great shot block abilities with out fouling. Nice footwork in the post scoring several times with a pa very nice ost turnaround shot. Impressive was that did not need the dribble to score that shot. Good passer out of the post looking for cutters or relocators Able to handle the ball in the open floor on fast breaks with up the court vision Showed the range from outside as well. Enjoyed watching her skill set</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Marlee Stout [program_tooltip program_id='713014' first='MO' last='Legacy'] 2026.</strong> Marlee has great footwork in the paint on offense able to score several buckets on a solid move. Her length at the rim makes her a strong shot blocker. Very versatile player who can play all 5 positions on the floor. To help new nd pressure on the press she played the point position. Good vision in the open floor in transition. She showed some range connecting on couple of 3's as well</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
