Continue ReadingJoy is a change of pace post off the bench for the state champs. The rising junior is a powerhouse down low that bangs with vigor inside. She moves bodies with her strength, scoring on putbacks and using back to the basket moves. Joy is a nightmare to keep off the glass.
Reese will return to action after moving from South Paulding. She’s a skilled guard that will provide a scoring punch to the Carrollton backcourt. Madison has a smooth handle, adept at getting to her spots.
A three-sport star, Henderson is an All-State performer in basketball, volleyball and track. Kenzie is a freakish athlete with her size, length and leaping ability. The state champ in hurdles and high jump skies for rebounds, quicker off the ground than any one else. She does a good job scoring on cuts and will occasionally step outside to shoot from the perimeter. Henderson is a dangerous defender in the paint that can spring up to swat shots away.
Polish and power are trademarks of Eva’s game. Bishop is trending in the right direction, well on her way to becoming one of Northeast Georgia’s very best post players. She is a very good at using her body and has a variety of post moves on the block. Eva aggressively seeks rebounds, able to come down with boards in traffic. She is a double-double threat moving forward.
Defenses don’t want to let Gracie get hot. Byford is a microwave scorer that sees her confidence snowball once a shot drops. Gracie plays with a chip on her shoulder as a spunky bucket getter. She has wiggle with the ball and will let it fly from deep off the dribble. Gracie is a good finisher when she gets downhill with her floater.
At 5-foot-9 with length and improving strength, Athena is a dangerous guard that is continuing to get better. If you leave Vachtsevanos open from three, she will bury the long ball consistently. Athena keeps defenses off balance with her hard slashes to the hoop. Vachtsevanos is a capable defender with switchability thanks to her wingspan.
