The Clash was the first live event weekend of the travel basketball season. This year, well over 500 teams competed in the event. We will look at some of the 2027's part two that stood out this past weekend for their respective programs.

Layla Stewart, 5'7, Guard, Michigan Mystics

Stewart a skilled guard with the ability to put the ball on the floor get by defenders or make the right play doesn't seem to phase her when In pressure situations. She can score it from all levels well. Stewart plays hard and during the course of the weekend did not take plays off. She is a tough player and will prove to be the top talent in the region and arguably in that 2027 class nationally as she continues to get better. Stewart impressed me with her ability to shoot the ball in transition.

Layla Booth, 5'10, Guard, Sports City Angels

Booth has a high ceiling being so young she uses her size and length well. She does a great job on both ends of the floor. Booth has shot-blocking ability and hands in the right place creating turnovers. This young lady has a good feel for the game and gets to her spot while also creating space well. Booth has a good motor and finishes through traffic. The quick and athletic framework allows her to play the game at a high level. She is a special talent with playmaking ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='808260' first='Kiara' last='Harris'], 5'10, Sports City Angels

Kiara is filling her frame out and getting it done on the inside and around the perimeter. She has a mid-range game and takes advantage of mismatch situations. With her foot speed, she goes by post, and with her size and strength, she physically has her way. Kiara rebounds and can handle the basketball getting to where she needs to. She is a hard worker with a good motor. This young lady has a great opportunity to possibly play on somebody's varsity team as an incoming freshman because she is physical and can defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='809003' first='Regan' last='Braaten'], Combo Guard, Mac Basketball

Braaten has a motor and she has a high basketball IQ. She can shoot it and does a phenomenal job at making the right plays. Braaten is an unselfish player and can let it fly behind the perimeter. She is passionate about the game and you can tell by the way she plays. [player_tooltip player_id='809003' first='Regan' last='Braaten'] is a player that makes others around her better by how she plays with or without the basketball. Braaten will be one of the bright spots in the state when it's all said and done at the high school level.

Aubree Warfel, Guard, IGB Bichey 2027

This young lady has a superior work ethic and a high motor. Warfel has a tremendous amount of energy and is a hustle player with a work ethic that was displayed all weekend. She is a good player that displays good poise when the ball is in her hand and she doesn't turn the ball over much. She finds open teammates and makes plays for herself and others. She is going to show why she should be on coaches' radars. This young lady cares more for the team than she does in the manner of unselfish play throughout the weekend.
