Guard Play:
Cassie Beste Cassie Beste 5'6" | CG Phillips Exeter Academy | 2024 State NewE , 5’5 G – Lone Wolf Athletics Class of 2024
The sharpshooting southpaw returned from injury sometime late winter and showed no signs of rust. Cassie balances her crafty facilitation and her scoring wisely, able to dissect defenses with her vision and get buckets at any level off of self-created looks or smart off-ball movement. Beste is a sly defender too, particularly off-ball, with her anticipation and high IQ. I’m excited to see Cassie back.
Bianca Williams Bianca Williams 5'10" | SG Essex | 2024 State NewE , 5’11 G/F – Lone Wolf Athletics Class of 2024
An all-around talent, Bianca provides a bit of everything. She efficiently scores at all 3-levels and can facilitate on the wing or play off ball. Moreover, she defends multiple positions, 2-4 and some 1s, with her combination of size, length, and athleticism. A hawk of a defender and a high-level rebounder too, Williams leaves little to be desired. Bianca’s potential is sky-high.
Sakoya Sweeney Sakoya Sweeney 5'6" | CG Lake Region | 2023 State NewE , 5’6 PG – Lone Wolf Athletics Class of 2023
It looks like Sakoya has opted to take a post-grad year at Tilton in NH, and reasonably so. She’s a high-level orchestrator who can get a bucket at whatever level in a pinch. In addition, she defends ballhandlers with excellent foot speed, anticipation, and smarts. Plus, she’s one of the most communicative and affirmative leaders I’ve seen around VT. Love her energy.
Nicole Norton Nicole Norton 5'8" | CG Colchester | 2024 State NewE , 5’8 G – Lone Wolf Athletics Class of 2024
A dynamic two-way guard, Nicole has a lot to offer. She’s a pesky defender who covers 1-3 on the ball or off; her on ball defense is aggressive yet measured, and off the ball she’s highly disruptive with her length and quickness. Then offensively Nicole is a smart + quick ball mover, a 3-point threat, and an adamant slasher with a skilled + athletic finishing package. I think Nicole will make a big jump this spring/summer.
Brooke’lyn Robinson, 5’6 G – Lone Wolf Athletics Class of 2024
Hyper-efficient and high-IQ, Brooke’lyn has a natural feel for the game. Offensively, she’s smart and steady. Robinson is a quick passer who sees gaps develop before cutters and screeners make their move, so she’s rarely late to make a play. Yet if the defense doesn’t respect her shooting, she’ll knock down catch-and-shoot jumpers all day. Brooke’lyn’s smarts translate defensively too. She’s intuitive on the floor.
Ruby Dasaro Ruby Dasaro 5'7" Bellows Free Academy | 2024 State NewE , 5’6 PG – Lone Wolf Athletics Class of 2024
An up-and-down PG, Ruby loves to get out in transition. Dasaro creates a lot of offense from her defense, often digging in against ballhandlers and jumping passing lanes for transition buckets. Then in the halfcourt, she’s a strong slasher with the athleticism to finish in traffic. Additionally, Ruby sees the floor well and can facilitate the offense while balancing her attack mentality. Athletic and aggressive on both ends.
Caitlyn Davison, 5’8 G – Lone Wolf Athletics Class of 2024
Davison is plug and play. She’s a high usage facilitator for her high school squad, yet I see her as an important glue player with this LWA team. Caitlyn has natural instincts on both ends. She moves the ball quickly and effectively, plus knows how to exploit gaps with heady cuts and screens away from the ball. Defensively she relies on her wit and anticipation and can hit the glass a bit as well. I’m excited to see Davison play with this talent around her.
