It was very pleasing to hear about the teams from the region taking advantage of the high-level platform and seizing the moment. New England has been red hot on the recruiting map for college coaches and we were represented well by the teams participated. New England showcased the sheer level of talent in the area by displaying some of the best prospects on the East Coast. There were a bunch of programs that had players perform well, however there were some players who stood out the bunch with their stellar play. Here are 5 players whose stock has definitely risen over this weekend at Spooky Nook.
Evi Higgins Evi Higgins 5’11” | PF Berkshire | 2025 State New E (2025) | 5’11 W/F| Boston Showstoppers
Evi is a flat-out sniper and it was on full display this weekend. Evi was unloading 3-pointer after 3-pointer for the Showstoppers. She was shooting a high percentage from deep with mostly catch and shoot 3-pointers, but she sprinkled in quality shots on the move. Higgins was coming off screens with the ball in her hand and letting it fly without hesitancy. Higgins gets her feet underneath her and keeps a high follow through, a true mark of a shooter, but she brought so much more to the floor. Evi was attacking and taking the open lane when offered for some valuable looks at the basket that got her some quick layups. Higgins was also hounding the opposing teams better offensive players that turned into some turnovers and she also had a couple blocks that made some statements. In summary, Evi had herself a weekend that revealed why she is a premier talent in New England.
Highlights
Tyanna Medina Tyanna Medina 5’6″ | PG Lawrence | 2024 State New E (2025) | 5’7 PG-CG| Lady Rivals
Tyanna has been on a tear these past couple of games, including a game-winning bucket for the Rivals vs Always 100! After an inbound play where her number was called, Tyanna drove hard to the basket going right for a couple dribbles and quickly pulls up with a slight lean to knock down the most clutch bucket you can ask for in the moment.
Tyanna has great vision and uses the pick and roll to her advantage, never forcing anything and making the right play. She can snake the screen and also probes in the lane to give herself some extra time. Medina is a slippery guard with bursts of speed that finds others and can make demanding shots and this just makes her a tough cover on any given night.
Lindsey Lemay Lindsey Lemay 5’11” | SF Barrington | 2024 New E (2025) | 5’11 Wing| Bay State Jags
Lindsey had herself a weekend at Spooky Nook! A complete wing package that was bringing the two-way energy from the start of the weekend. Lemay is one of the best wing defenders on the perimeter. Lindsey was a defensive monster all weekend long and had countless number of steals and transition buckets. She is always in the right place at the right time and has active hands while staying on the balls of her feet. Lindsey generates steals and interruptions because of her length and combined with her athleticism she’s able to deceptively roam. When in transition, Lindsey can finish athletically off one foot, but also understands when to finish under control and use her jump-stop to her advantage. She is not just defense; Lemay can hit from long-range and also has a solid mid-range game. Her jump shot is confident and under control through the high release point. Lindsey is a coach’s dream; she doesn’t require the ball or take extra dribbles to get the job done.
Alannah Morantus Alannah Morantus 5’9″ | CG Foxborough Charter | 2027 New E (2027) |5’9 PG-CG| Shooting Touch
Although one of the youngest prospects on the list, Alannah is without a doubt a top-ranking talent in New England. Morantus has been on a tear lately, impressing a handful of coaches while out of town. She was knocking down long-range jumpers from way beyond the line, when she wasn’t scoring, she was facilitating and dumping off passes to the posts. Alannah has a great right to left crossover that is lethal if a defender bites, but she uses it primarily to free up and bounce into a flow. Her handle is harmonious with her feet placement which give her a free-flowing effect that aids her into a nice offensive tempo. Morentus was able to pick up an offer from Dartmouth after the well-played Spooky Nook trip. This is only the start for Morantus, you can definitely expect her to pile up more big-time schools before the season’s end.
