Grace Hunter-5’8 PG ( HG Elite S40) Krum [2024]
Hunter mixed it up on the offensive end and her ability to create her shot coupled with a deceptive first step gave her options. She attacked the basket using a slight HEZ to finish off the dribble after contact included and she showed she could drop the mid to long range while being defended yet just as importantly she also showed she could “catch and shoot”
Kiersten Fink-6’2 PF ( HG Elite S40) Prestonwood Christian Academy [2024]
Fink stands over “the magic number” which is 6’0 and also what many college programs across the country have on their short lists yet her intangibles make her more marketable, like showing that “hands and footwork” to score around the basket which was prevalent in yesteryear and she did a good job of not only rebounding but defending inside the paint
Elizabeth Romer Elizabeth Romer 5'10" | SF Kapaun Mt. Carmel | 2024 State KS -5’10 SG (KS United Soyez 2024 S40) Kaplan Mt Caramel [2024]
Romer roamed around the perimeter to get open and I enjoyed watching her constantly moving as her teammates found her, yet when they hit her, the “catch and shoot” was smooth and accurate. She also created her shot and dropped it in the set, mid to long-range, she also showed she could score from outside in transition as well as off the dribble
Morgan Watkins-5’7 SG LA Soul Gold) Ponchatoula [2024]
Watkins dove on the floor constantly for loose balls, which gets her the #THRO WBA CK hashtag yet she also went after the ball off the rim and handled it in the open court in transition. She has a nice first step and attacked the basket fiercely while finishing strongly and she showed she could drain it from outside. Her on-the-ball defense was also nice as it help create turnovers
Alannah Nerocker-5’8 G (Houston Lady Roadrunners 17U) Hightower [2024]
Nerocker rocked it almost instantaneously as she understands how to use her athleticism on both ends of the court. Her defensive pressure was smothering at times as she guarded her man baseline to baseline, yes on the ball, and she also did a good job playing the passing lane. Her timing was even good as she blocked shots but she also attacked the basket strongly and finished the same way, strongly
Shunteria Anumele Shunteria Anumele 5'8" | SG Legacy Sports School of Science | 2024 State TX -5’10 SG (THS 17U E40) Royal [2024]
Anumele is one of the most explosive guards off the dribble in Texas and when you factor in her strength as well as body control, she’s an “and one” waiting to happen”. Don’t get it twisted, she elevates on her jumper and can drop the mid to long-range with a hand in her face but she also goes hard on the defensive end and brings constant heat, her quick hands enabled her to get steals galore
Aven Sasser Aven Sasser 6'1" | PF Central | 2024 State AR -6’2 PF (AAR E40 17U Williams) Little Rock Central [2024]
Sasser has two huge things going for her, she’s “long and athletic” which will always be the base and she’s over “the magic number” see above. What are her intangibles, glad you asked, and let me start with her timing to block, deflect and (or) alter shots but she also does a good job defending inside the paint as well as on the ball. She scored off the dribble and showed the pull-up jumper from the midrange
Payton Caudle-6’0 SG (2026 Banshees S40) Ramay [2028]
Caudle immediately grabbed my attention with her poise under pressure, after all, she was a 7th grader playing up and her potential is up, up and away. First of all, she stands at 6’0, you know, the magic number and she is a big guard that can shoot the ball, which is something like yet more importantly so do college coaches. Her pull-up jumper in the set, stop and pop in transition and snd scoring off the dribble will keep getting better as her upside is scary
Destiny Arinze Destiny Arinze 5'10" | PF Sunnyvale | 2026 State TX -5’10 PF ( Texas Platinum S40 Bartlett) Sunnyvale [2026]
Arinze always seems to have “rugged” in my notes every time I catch her and that’s because she just won’t be outworked in the paint. She goes after everything off the rim, on both ends, and showed she could score not only on putbacks but around the basket after contact. She also can drop the short jumper but her playing the passing lane and handling the ball in the open court afterward speaks volumes about her upside
