Plays at her own tempo. Uses hesitation and change of direction to get in the paint where she finishes strong and shows a very nice floater game. Mia has a super quick release at the 3-point line and in her mid-range game, so she only needs a little space to get her jumper off. Since she’s always in control, Mia sees the court very well in the half court and in transition as evidenced by her 3+ assists per game in her sophomore season at Chatham HS. That ball sharing and her willingness to attack the boards are on full display thus far with United NJ 16u Select 40.
She may be 5’8″ but she plays like she’s the biggest player on the court. She has an unstoppable motor and is absolutely relentless at both ends. Physical and tough she averaged just under 7 rebounds a game as a sophomore at Randolph HS and should take on the leading role with the graduation of twins Madison Jenisch Madison Jenisch 5’8″ | PG Randolph | 2023 State NJ and Sydney Jenisch Sydney Jenisch 5’8″ | PG Randolph | 2023 State NJ . Aliyah is a disruptive force on the defensive end of the court. On the offensive end, she attacks the rim hard and has a nice pull up game. As her range continues to expand, she’ll be even more dangerous. She will be a force for her United 16u Select 40 team this summer.
Highlights
She does a little bit of everything and does it all well. She can run the point, play off the ball, defend 1-5 and hit every column of the box score. 10+ ppg, 5+ rpg and 3 spg on a senior laden Montville HS roster. Everything is set up for her to lead the show as a junior. She finds ways to make big plays at big times. Juliana can score on all 3 levels. Strong and physical she can use her body to get where she wants on the court. Good distributor in transition and off the bounce. She will do whatever it takes for her NJ Panthers 16u team.
Sophia filled it up on Saturday and did it in a variety of ways. She shot a very high percentage from 2, 3 and the free throw line. She can spot up at the 3-point line, create her shot in the half court and take it coast to coast in transition. She has good moves on her drives and uses excellent body control to score through contact using great spin moves in the paint. Sophia did a great job attacking the glass on D and looking to push tempo in transition. She played very efficiently in her time on the court this weekend. As her United 15u Select 40 teams learns to play together it should be fun to watch her lead at the offensive end. She averaged just under 10 ppg and 3+rpg as a freshman at Ridge HS.
