For an hour I was able to watch the 15U-17U teams (15U 3SSB, 16U Blue Star Select, 16U 3SSB, 17U Blue Star Select & 17U 3SSB) scrimmage against each other. Here are my thoughts on some of the talent on the top teams!
RANKINGS UPDATE: June 1st
Clearly the best prospect in her class when you mix the talent with the size. Ezike is a solid 6’2 and can switch into another gear like a guard. She can do everything well.. which makes her potential even scarier. Multiple games this circuit season Ezike proved why the huge leap as THE top player in 2025 class is justified.
Highlights
Sara is your prototypical combo guard who has all the tools to be impactful with the ball and off the ball. She can shoot, attack the paint, and can run a PnR just as good as any top guard in her class. She’s smooth and safe with the ball, and has immaculate vision as a passer. On target for a majority of possessions. Defensively, the aggression and fight is there. Quiet player.. but she wakes up with the clock starts.
Kids who seek the midrange always stand out to me. Meyers knows the angles, the steps and the dribble combo to get to her spots at the mid level. She can knockdown the long ball, or get crafty and creative to get to the rim. She finishes well, and has solid body control through contact. Can double as a facilitator too. Her hard work off the court is clearly translating. A better situation for a top talent.
Different atmospheres can bring out a different skill set for a player. Gehrt in AAU ball seems to dig really deep into her skillset, and you can see how extensive it is when she plays. Tough, solid handles, and a non stop type of motor. She makes positive decisions with the ball, and find ways to be impactful even when she’s not the primary ball handler. Adjustable and adaptable.
Highlights
Some players just do their job.. even if the job changes per game. Herzing is adaptable, smart and focused. She’s a competitor and that’s on both ends of the floor. She has the vibe and play style of a player who just wants to win. Plays within the system, barely makes mistakes, and an upbeat attitude no matter the situation.
Cartee has all the skills and length to be a multi positional problem at the next level. 3 level scorer, solid and safe ball handler, and still conserves enough energy to be just as effective on the other end of the floor. Altering shots, blocking shots and being the perfect last line of defense. High upside and tons of potential.
Highlights
Sheehan can play in any system and be successful. She has great strength with a touch of craftiness that makes her a hard matchup to deal with it. She can shoot the long ball, get to the rim, or use her tremendous patience and find cutters and open players. A impactful player to say the least for this M14 program.
Highlights
Struebing plays like she’s been in certain situations before. After having a successful high school season (All-Confrence Honors), Hannah looks to continue that solid play. She’s a double double type of player that can impact the game on both sides of the ball due to her high motor. She’s strong on the glass, at the rim and knows how to use her size when needed. A key player to follow this circuit.
