McLain looked like she was still figuring out how to affect winning with her Midwest Elite group, so she was a little quiet on the offensive end but made plenty of impact plays on the defensive end. When they got to set their press up, they had McLain playing at the back and in a roamer role, and she did well. I thought she made plenty of plays on the ball defensively and overall made an excellent account for herself on that end of the floor.
Cyra Conwell
I love guards who have plenty of comfort in situations where most wouldn’t be comfortable. When multiple defenders went her way, she played her way out of it without breaking a sweat. I talk about guards’ ability to beat their initial defender a lot because it creates numerical mismatches every time, and Conwell did that a lot. I lost track of how many times Conwell got a lane to the rim that forced the defense to help, which led to Conwell making good passes to open teammates. I loved what she did as a lead guard.
Audrey Sellinger Audrey Sellinger 5'11" | SF Wauwatosa East | 2026 State WI
The thing that’s incredible about Sellinger’s game is that sometimes it feels like she’s a little passive and doesn’t demand the ball to make plays, but then all of a sudden, she has 10-15 points in half or something. Sellinger makes plays on both ends of the floor, and she’s a kid who doesn’t need sets run for her to score. She’ll jump passing lanes and get easy layups, make all her open shots, and make positive plays on both ends. I can’t undersell how great of a player she is to have on a roster.
West’s athleticism on the defensive end stood out in the one game I saw her play. Her Mac Irvin Fire team is new to her, so I didn’t expect to try and take control offensively, but on the other end, she shined. West stayed in front of kids who few can stay in front of and did an outstanding job of getting her opposition out of rhythm. I don’t know what her role will be the rest of the way, but she’ll defend at a high level. I know that for sure.
