New England Warm Up 2023: Stars and Standouts, Part I

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The AAU girls basketball season is in full swing, and several talented teams traveled from all over the Northeast to Foxborough, MA for the New England Warm Up. Many of these rosters are filled with players who are stars on their high school teams and attracting the interest of college recruits across the country. I was fortunate enough to catch some of this regional talent in person. She is a quick and effective shooter with excellent ball-handling skills and passing abilities. As a versatile guard she can get a pull-up jumper in the wing position or weave through defenders to the basket. Her savvy passing abilities make her a great floor facilitator as well. At 6'2, her wingspan allows her to float over defenders in the paint and disrupt opponents on the defensive end. Earlier this year, Kay became a 1,000 point scorer on her high school career at Bishop Fenwick. She is a strong rebounder who can deliver on a putback or create second-chance points for her teammates. She has great court vision and passing abilities and can move the flow of the offense with her speed an athleticism. As a tall guard, Rodrigues can compete in the paint and on the dribble drive to the basket, and also pull up for a smooth jumper or long-range shot.
